Last night a new issue arose. Games would play fine for about 15-30 minutes then the Rift would go black for a few seconds then the home screen would pop up after saying the Headset HDMI wasn't connected. However, the headset worked just fine. Happens everytime now. So I turned on the don't disturb button and it goes to a black screen for a second or two then keeps playing without further errors. When you exit out it has the headset marked with a red error but still works perfectly. I have 2x 980gtx SLI
While SLI is not supported, it won't necessarily cause issues. Typically the VR software will just disable SLI right before a VR game loads. At home I use SLI, and I have it enabled without any issue. But it may be a good idea to disable SLI and see if that helps.
Passive are none powered adaptors. Basically they just move the pins to where they need to be. Active adaptors draw a bit of power and amplify the signal
