[Crowdfunding] Black Island - a horror game for Oculus

Hi guys,

I'm here to tell you about "Black Island"! 🙂 Perhaps you have heard about it somewhere on the interwebs. Perhaps you played the short demo, we released a while ago. Perhaps you have no idea what I'm talking about.

We're a small indie team with three people from Zurich, Switzerland and have been working on "Black Island" since the beginning of this year. It started out as a hobby project, but we quickly got more serious about it, and are aiming for a release on Halloween, this year.

What is Black Island?

‘Black Island’ is a first-person, open world horror game, set on a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean. The player is stranded on the island and has to solve riddles, to be able to call for help. But even though no human can be found on the island, he is not alone. Optimized for playing with the Oculus Rift headset, the player can enjoy an immersive horror atmosphere in 360 degrees.

More infos about the game can be found on our Indiegogo page: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/black-island-a-horror-game-for-oculus-rift/x/4328642

Even if you don't contribute yourself, we'd be very happy if you could send the link to other people, who could be interested! (And please don't laugh at my performance in the video. hehe)

All the best from Switzerland from the "Black Island" team! 😄

Sounds really interesting! I think this kind of game can get the most out of the Rift and its attributes. Good job devs!

Hey, looks interesting; I'll keep an eye on it!

Just so you know, though, every person I've spoken to or read about who put their campaign on Indiegogo wishes they'd put it on Kickstarter. Between the better tools, better support, and higher traffic, the only reason it ever made sense to put something on indiegogo was before they implemented international payments.

Thanks for the feedback! We would've loved to put the whole thing on Kickstarter... Unfortunately we're not from the US, Canada or GB, so we couldn't open a campaign on Kickstarter, even though they accept international payments now.
