Does anyone have any information about the changable foam inserts?
Is anyone offering a service for face scanning and production of completely custom inserts? Are Oculus developing a set of inserts that will fit specific shapes or will they be adjustable?
They said the Rift will come packaged with several inserts to fit different face shapes, as well as at least one for glasses-wearers to have a better fit. None of the separate inserts have been shown off yet, though.
I thought I read that the Rift CV1 would support various face inserts. I was also under the impression that they were after-market, not included. A quick google search didn't yield any good results - do you happen to have a link to anything supporting them being included?

Which is why when the Rift ships in Q1 2016, “it will ship with multiple facial interfaces.” These interfaces will take the form of differently shaped faceplates on the interior of the device. These will allow for people with different facial structures and features to more easily and comfortably fit in the Rift. It will also allow for anyone with glasses to use the device as well.
If Rift sells in anything like the quantites that it appears to be doing, you can guarantee it won't be long before third party sellers are offering different sizes of face inserts.
@notsram I was wondering about this myself! I think the proper way to make them would be to scan a person's face and print them. Once some foam is added you've got a perfect and hopefully comfortable fit with no light leakage etc. I would look into doing this as a business but sadly I doubt that the demand would be high enough to sustain a business. That's assuming you could sort out the logistics. I suppose you could model the inserts using reference images from different profiles but you couldn't guarantee a perfect fit.
I suppose the other option is to have the inserts act like those arrays of pins/pegs where you put your hand/face against it and an impression is left behind? (you used to see them as desk toys). Have a system that makes them loose for adjustment and then tighten them in place. have a layer of foam for comfort. One insert to rule them all. =D
