DIY subpac

So a few weeks into owning my rift and loving it so far. Training myself to get my vr legs with locomotion sessions in Arizona sunshine each day, which seems to be going well as I'm now comfortably playing for an hour.

I decided that I really likes the idea of adding more immersion to my vr experience, so while I work on trying to make a weight adding apparatus, I make a quick and cheap DIY subpac to give full body feedback.

I used an old rucksack, which I stripped down to the straps and back, two tactile transducers and a little 20w amp. I've glued the transducers to the frame and run an additional cable back to the amp which runs of the sub out on the pc. All parts cost £50, and it's pretty amazing.

The t-rex in dreamdeck shakes you with every footstep, and his roar rattles your spine. In robotics recall you can 'feel' each teleport now, and the double shotguns kick like a mule. House of the dying sun is much visceral now when every subtle shift in the ship's trajectory is felt, and the machine guns rattle the whole ship.

In short, it's an amazing addition and for £50 and a tiny bit of DIY (gluing/soldering) it's amazing value for the added immersion.

Links to parts if anyone's interested

Am going to add thin foam layer over the mess to tidy it up, seal the sides up and add two smaller transducers on the front of either shoulder strap as well.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could best power headphones with this set up?  I'm assuming that even the small amp you are using is too powerful for headphones

Could you share a parts list? I tried Dayton TT25 pucks and DTA-1 30W amplifier but the results were underwhelming.
