DK2 Eye strain - Is it just me?

I have been using DK1 almost everyday for a year now so I am very well adjusted to VR. The DK2 is a huge improvement but I am noticing some issues that no one else has mentioned. In all Unity demos when I look up and down quickly my eyes feel strained. Left and right feels fine. It almost feels like each eye rendering is warping differently during this movement. I never dip below 75fps and have all settings up on high so v-sync is enabled. Also when rotating with the mouse or joystick it seems like there are different levels of stereo so I can't quickly focus on anything.

I have a GTX 560 Ti which I know is to low, but I am working on highly optimized scenes. Could this be something wrong with my card? A Unity integration issue? Or could it be something with the new lenses?

Sorry this is hard to put into words. For reference, try out my demo in my signature, looking quickly up at the dome causes the most eye strain.

Somebody on Reddit suggested that this was due to the skin around your eyes being stretched when putting on the DK2.

Their suggestion was that, after you put on the DK2, close your eyes hard (scrunch them shut), which will pull the skin back into the rift and unstretch it.

I'm also having a lot of eyestrain/headache issues (Didn't have a DK1). It's helped immensely to turn off stereoscopic 3d in the graphic drivers (AMD). I'm still having discomfort issues, and trying to figure out a solution.

This is a good tip. To be honest I thought it was a little silly when I first saw it posted on Reddit but after trying it myself it really makes sense.

Same here. After trying that tip, my face and eyes were able to relax a lot more. Now I do this every time I put on the DK2.

Also, with the DK1, I always had to scrounge up my cheeks a bit to lift the headset a little in order to look into the sweet spot. I was basically wearing a fake smile whenever I was using the Rift, and it became second nature. My mother had to do this as well. But, amazingly, I don't need to do this with the DK2 -- now I can just let it be and enjoy the experience and this tip from reddit makes a big difference toward that end.

Yep..scrunchy face works for me too. Just finished playing Elite for 40 minutes. Longest I'd ever been in dk1 was 12 minutes and I felt horrible afterwards. 40 minutes in dk2 and I feel fine.
