Dear Room Scale developers

Please make the sticks on touch do what xbox controller sticks do. Strafe move and rotate.

I have no room for room scale setup in my house, surely it would open up the player base to those of us without mansions! if people want to turn around for real i can't see how having the option on the sticks would stop them.. So many games i want to play and i just can't do it! I just don't accept the argument that you should have to turn for real if you can't do it without crashing into things when you bend down or punch etc... Its severely limiting the games i can buy!

Less then 10% games require room scale really, because less then 10% VR users have enough free space to dedicate to room scale VR anyway.

But it's true that less then 10% games seem to be providing proper thumbstick support, providing annoying and immersion teleportation mechanics instead, as developers fail to realize that most headset owners have moved on from their initial motion sickness and in 2017 it's teleportation mechanics that they're sick of.

My plea to developers : Always provide thumbstick support, if only as an advanced VR option with a warning message that has to be switched on by the user.

My plea to developers- take some crash course lessons on capitalism and understand the value of "more" options in apps. you invest your time in developing.

The functionality you are looking for is called "Free Locomotion", I suggest adding your signature to this thread: https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/50178/please-sign-for-free-locomotion#latest

Let the developers know we want to be able to move freely in the virtual world using the analog sticks without teleporting the character.

while I don't get queasy much anymore (still happens from time to time but I stop and go take a break for 5 mins), there are a couple of things that really set me off - anything with a free camera that pivots around a central point that's not my own head have me wanting to hurl pretty quick..

it's gotta be implemented right - the old 2D Mechanic of pivoting around a 3rd person character or central viewpoint doesn't translate well. and Teleporting isn't that crap..
Though you are more than slightly incoherent, I agree with you Madam,
a plum is a terrible thing to do to a nostril.

I believe that if you keep at it eventually nothing will make you queazy, you've just gotta put in the effort. You already have shown that you can improve, don't stop until you can let your character do a spinning backflip down a mine shaft in 3rd person while the display is upside down.

lol.

As my 35 odd years of being careful about car sickness shows, this turns out not to be the case

I just hope in the future having a choice between your 3 basic types (full locomotion, step turning, or teleport) will be built in with at least most games.

Well, maybe. It could be that car sickness is a little different (there is actual physical motion involved), it's just after coming so far myself with overcoming VR Sickness it seems like anyone could do it. Maybe I'm just different.
