Delete All Social Media Apps?

I'm not really interested in social media of any kind.  I mainly just want to play single player PCVR games/sims, mainly using Link or Air Link.  I do enjoy a few standalone Q3 games as well.

On my PC, I have a Facebook account (not tied into my meta account) to view a few bulletin boards for some clubs I belong to.

My Q3/Qpro now seems to have a lot of social media apps installed including Horizon Worlds (which I did install, but never have used), Instagram, Facebook, and whatsapp.  I seem to get a lot of updates related to these apps.  Since I don't use these with my Q3/QPro headsets, is it safe to just uninstall these, and avoid further updates for these?  Thanks and cheers.

I am pretty sure that even if you uninstall them, they will all be back with the next version at the latest😂

Currently, I don't have the "hide/remove option....and hiding them won't prevent you from getting updates, right?

I also don't use any of those apps - at least not with the headset - and would prefer uninstalling.

If you don't mind using the PC version of Sidequest to delete these apps after every update, then unfortunately you're stuck with unsocial media. Perhaps it also makes the headset quicker as its not running unwanted apps and constantly checking for updates on features you don't use.

I uninstalled the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp apps from my Q3 and Q2 when I first saw that they had installed. That was a couple updates ago, and they haven’t reinstalled themselves.

I’ve also hidden them on my Q2, but unfortunately my Q3 lost the Hide Apps feature (I had it briefly, but it disappeared when I got the next PTC update). I haven’t seen the Remove Apps feature yet on either headset.

And I was never in PTC with the Quests, only with the PC app.

Strange thing:

In the German forum there is a user with two Quests 3, both on the same version... one has the "hide" option, the other doesn't.

Can someone explain to me how this is possible?🤔

Another weird thing—I was using my Quest 2 yesterday, and I noticed that I don’t have Hide Apps on the primary account anymore, but I still have it on the secondary account.
