I sure hope this only affects new pre-orders and not existing customers. I have ordered shortly after DK2 announcement and planned work to begin in this summer, so it would be unfortunate if the devkit would be delayed for some strange reason.

I don't known but if all shipping company (Dhl/fedex/etc) suspend the service, that for me mean a NO for all, no only new orders. Oculus not going to Rusia with you package in the hand.
PD: yes my english its bad i known i5-4570 - Shaphire r9-290, win10-64

As far as I understand, that is not the case since winter.

Sorry, we are not shipping to Russia currently.
That may change in the future, I don't know.

What about pre-ordered in March? I paid 100$ deposit for 2 pcs on 19th March when Russia was available in the country list. So I have been waiting them for 4 months and still I have no idea whether they will ship my HMDs or not.
I've received the letter from the support that explains nothing:
"Due to recent events, we cannot guarantee delivery of our product to Russia at this time.
We'll leave everything alone for now, and I'd recommend checking with us in a few weeks."
What are the recent events? Ukraine Civil war the whole world blames Russia to enkindle it? New cool war? Sanctions against Russia? Or just troubles with our customs services? Anything else? I really don't understand what the recent events are...
Meanwhile I've received Oculus Rift DK2 Pre-Order Payment Update e-mail... So can anybody say definitely whether Oculus VR will ship the HMDs which were pre- ordered earlier or not? If answer is NO, can I ask to forward the shipment to my relative in EU? I read you don't allow any forwarding to other address. Is this true?

I agree, I would prefer Oculus to give clear and detailed explanation of the situation on shipping of existing orders, preferably before the first batch actually goes out. As the last resort I'm considering changing the shipping info to an address of a friendly developer in UK and handling the import myself, but I would really prefer if jumping through the hoops like that would not be necessary.

I would try mailing oculus directly.
you might get your answers sooner.
I don't think politics has anything to do with it, companies try to steer clear of politics because its bad for business. Except if your in the business of selling weapons.

I already asked them twice would they ship or no. I've got 2 formal replies and no clear understanding the situation.

His wording seems to not discriminate between new and old orders. They're not shipping currently to Russia. Period.

The world situation involving Russia is messy and changing fast with everything going on. There is the conflict with the EU, the invasion of Ukraine, the shoot down of the MAS 777 with nearly 300 souls from various countries, etc.

It gets tough to guarantee delivery when there are so many forces at work. And responsibility for any loss in transit would ultimately be OVR's. I can certainly understand them not wanting to take the risk. I don't know their political or humanitarian sentiments, but I also understand just deciding not to ship to Russia based on the country's behavior as unfair as that would be to developers there.

Besides, there was a lot of scalper activity there as well as in China. Delaying all orders to Russia for a while thwarts that activity while still ultimately getting DK2 into real developer's hands there.

Regardless off the reason - international behavior, scalping/reselling, or just the risk to shipments headed to Russia, OVR is being prudent and legitimate developers are unfortunately having to pay the price for other's or their government's actions.
But... but... but... I just NEED to know about the Baba! The Baba has me hypmotized!

Actually, right now may be the best time to ship to Russia. Of course no one can say for sure, but things are very likely to get only worse from here, completely eliminating any chances of delivery at all.
As for the delivery service to use (in terms of speed or reliability) - it doesn't really matter much. In Russia there are only three types of postal service: super slow, regular slow and holy-****-do-you-want-me-to-go-bankrupt slow. All of the express delivery services fall onto the latter category, with the exception of EMS which is just the "regular slow" one. They also tend to have an overly complicated and expensive customs clearance procedures. So I think many of the Russian customers (me included) will be okay with the cheapest option as long as there is a tracking number provided. Anything else is just a waste of money, really.
