The world situation involving Russia is messy and changing fast with everything going on. There is the conflict with the EU, the invasion of Ukraine, the shoot down of the MAS 777 with nearly 300 souls from various countries, etc.

It gets tough to guarantee delivery when there are so many forces at work. And responsibility for any loss in transit would ultimately be OVR's. I can certainly understand them not wanting to take the risk. I don't know their political or humanitarian sentiments, but I also understand just deciding not to ship to Russia based on the country's behavior as unfair as that would be to developers there.

Besides, there was a lot of scalper activity there as well as in China. Delaying all orders to Russia for a while thwarts that activity while still ultimately getting DK2 into real developer's hands there.

Regardless off the reason - international behavior, scalping/reselling, or just the risk to shipments headed to Russia, OVR is being prudent and legitimate developers are unfortunately having to pay the price for other's or their government's actions.

You watch too much TV ...

Actually, right now may be the best time to ship to Russia. Of course no one can say for sure, but things are very likely to get only worse from here, completely eliminating any chances of delivery at all.
As for the delivery service to use (in terms of speed or reliability) - it doesn't really matter much. In Russia there are only three types of postal service: super slow, regular slow and holy-****-do-you-want-me-to-go-bankrupt slow. All of the express delivery services fall onto the latter category, with the exception of EMS which is just the "regular slow" one. They also tend to have an overly complicated and expensive customs clearance procedures. So I think many of the Russian customers (me included) will be okay with the cheapest option as long as there is a tracking number provided. Anything else is just a waste of money, really.

So being from Russia, why do you personally think things will get worst from here? I have an off topic question as well. Are the sanctions the US are implementing actually affecting you guys?

How does reciting the facts have anything to do with the amount of TV I watch?

This is moving off topic, but every bit of that is true. It does seem that Russia at least supplied the arms used to bring down that plane, Russia is in conflict with the EU over things like using energy as a threat, and Russia did invade and annex Crimea.

Or do you mean the part about Russians being involved in scalping/reselling activities like the Chinese were? If you were, I see your point. That story line was explored on Castle, Hawaii Five-O, Law and Order, and maybe even Cops...
But... but... but... I just NEED to know about the Baba! The Baba has me hypmotized!

Wait wait wait! Are you serious?! Not shipping to Russia?
Come on guys, this can't be true! Even though shipping companies such as DHL are having difficulties, they are just that - difficulties, but not the complete impossibility to deliver goods to Russia. Here is the link concerning customs guidelines from dhl http://www.dhl.com/content/dam/downloads/g0/express/customs_regulations_russia/export_import_guideli...
Now about those customs regulations on ecommerce, they are still have not came to force and are still being discussed in government, so anyone can in Russia can receive goods under 1000 eur without any additional taxes. Here is the link
http://top.rbc.ru/economics/16/07/2014/936888.shtml I know that situation may change, but those things are really slow, and Dk2 for sure would be delivered to those who ordered on day one. Like someone wrote before my post, all clearance and taxes can be managed by receiver here in Russia.
All in all, as a russian developer myself I am pleading you, don't ruin our hopes to become a part of international vr community. Please reconsider your decision!
К русским - ребята, смотрите что делается, я в шоке. Надо разбираться с этим, а то не видать нам dk2. Вроде они раньше через посредника работали по доставке в РФ, может быть с ним связаться? И писать официальные письма OVR и Палмеру!

Sorry for off-topic but I can't refrain myself from discussing. Why do you blame Russia for shooting down Malaysia Airlines Flight 017? Why don't you admit that it could be another evil non-Russian guy who pushed a button. By the way
there are so many the Ukraine's Buk missile systems (surface-to-air missile system) in that district. So it easy could be Ukraine's military forces. Anybody blames Russia, it's a trend. I wonder if CNN, for example, says a word about the similar situation when the Russian Tu-154M flight 1812, 78 souls on board was shoot down on 4 Oct 2001 by Ukraine's C-200 missile systems during the military drills. Before say something we should wait until the official investigation is completed.

It is true that we have the poor mail service, very slowing delivery of the goods. But the express mail services such as for instance DHL Express work well in our country. We have been charged 145$ for delivery per unit (I ordered 2, so my parcel costs 350$*2+145*2$). It seems pretty enough for sending a few kilos parcel by a reliable forwarding service with no risk of losing at all.

Да писали, ответ один - мы не гарантируем отправку в РФ, обратитесь позже, через пару недель, возможно ситуация прояснится.

If you consider a sanction the fact of oculus not delivering dk2 then yes sure!
Otherwise, no I dont feel any changes since sanctions were declared.

There's pretty damning evidence that while Russia was not the one on the trigger for firing the missile at MH17, they're heavily connected to it. A leader in the pro-Separatist army posted on Twitter about "shooting down a Ukrainian cargo plane" around the time MH17 was lost. Real quickly, he took the posting down. Along with that, a recording of communications between a pro-Seperatist commander and a Russian Commander who reports directly to the Kremlin was leaked as well where they were talking about a plane coming down near the town of Torez.

There's reports now that Russians and pro-Seperatists are taking parts of the plane away from the crash site.

I'll be honest with you. Putin's government is corrupt as can be.

I want to hear the real problem with delivery to Russia.
