Do I need to remove the batteries to power off Touch?

Last week I changed my Touch controllers batteries, because they ran out. This week I haven't used it at all, but today as soon I grabbed them to play a little bit of Bullet Train, the batteries were empty again. What?! I didn't use them the whole week, and the batteries were brand new! Since there is no power off button on them, I assumed they will turn off automatically when not used, but apparently this wasn't the case. So, do I have remove the batteries every time I don't use them? If so, it kinda sucks... 😕

Brand new nimhs?  Alkalines?  Carbon Zinc?  LSD nimh?  Nicads?  Lithiums?  Lead acids?  This is important information!

Touch controllers should go to sleep automatically when not in use. Unfortunately, some of the earlier prototype versions had an issue where they would not fall to sleep, and would slowly drain the battery. Rest assured, this has been solved for the final version. Thanks.

Mine are Engineering Sample CO7, are they old?

If yours are one of the versions that have that issue, and if you'd rather not deal with that problem, now would probably be the time to see if anyone wants to buy them from you.

Even with such a defect, I'm sure someone out there would gladly pay just to get Touch two months early, so long as the tracking and inputs are all functioning well.  And then you could put that money towards getting a set of consumer-release ones... Of course, the downside would be having to go back to just the remote and gamepad until then.

I've got them for free, but they are not technically mine, so I can't sell them. 😘
