Really, i don't want to judge, but really? a closed system platform on PC? Really oculus? You really think you can prevent people to play your games to those who don't have an oculus rift? wile valve is allowing everyone who have the rift to play theyr games? You are not hurting your oculus sales this way, you are hurting your store. But even if is impossible to lock something on pc, lets assume you made it and really menage to totally close your platform... if you buy a game on oculus store, you can use it only with the oculus rift. I think Francis has said everithing you have to hear... You are just making people angry at you, incentiving piracy... good job
It's useless to argue to people who don't understand that all HMDs will be proprietary until there is a standard put in place. But we live in the Verucca Salt generation.
The assumption is that Oculus won't ever support another HMD. The truth is, they don't want to support shitty hacks and 3rd-party wrappers.
Funny video, but don't agree.... while i am quite critical on the customer support level right now, i am feeling that Oculus does it very well in the way they are working. Valve isn't allowing Rift owners to Valve exclusives either. and it is not about protecting the platform, but to protect against shitty hacks and 3rd-party wrappers like @Hanover was mentioning.
