The Rift has been out for about 7 months now, and I'm curious to see how many of the locals actually use a VR cover when playing. I still use the original cloth cover I purchased some time back:
I actually bought one just after I got the Rift but I've never used it. I figured the more air circulates into the Rift the better, a cover would only close the gap around the nose area for air to get in. Could be wrong though as I never tried it. 😄
Air can still get in with the cloth version since the cloth is quite thin. And it does help eliminate any light that would come in from the gap. I like it because I feel like it helps protect the Rift; adding to the materials longevity. Especially if doing lengthy gaming sessions or sweating like a pig in horror VR all day lol
I know its got some bad feedback but I still like it! I'd be interested in trying the new version of it but since Oculus opened up the CAD designs to the face plates I'm just gonna wait till we get some really comfy versions of that
Always with cover, as Zenbane said the help for the gap and also I dont feel too much heat from the from the top of the HMD, 1 more thing is that keeps your foam clean. Im using the VR Cover
