Does anyone have a reliable powerbank+cable solution for long term play?

So battery straps like aubika and bobovr are good, but they also don't last very long. In a household with kids waiting in line to play, it's good to have an option for a powerbank with a larger capacity to continue charging during use.

I got a 45 Watt 24000mah anker power bank. Much more capacity than the 8000 mah aubika. Paired it with various usb-c cables rated at 100W+.

I can put links to amazon if that's allowed here.

At first it was great, charge holding even during play and so on. But eventually, things became inconsistent. Sometimes the charge level doesn't hold as it used to, sometimes I get the blinking organge light. Sometimes I just have to replug in, or put the set on standby then try again. I am trying different cables because I don't think it's the powerbank- maybe the cable capability and quality makes a difference.

What are your experiences? Have you found reliable solution that works for you, meaning keep the headset charged and going?

Hey @traden.220920!

I can't speak for the Quest 3, but I personally have been using the Anker 337 power bank (26,800 mAh) for my Quest 2 for almost 3 years now. It still holds a full charge and runs strong to this day! The battery last for long multi-hour PCVR sessions, and by the end of it, my power bank still sits at a cool 2-3 charge levels. I've never had any inconsistency issues or heating issues with it nor my headset, so it's a strong recommendation from me.

The cables it comes with aren't the best rated, so I picked up some higher-rated 100W Anker USB-C cables to go along with it. The only caveats I have with it are the obvious bulkiness (rated at 1.1 lbs., but feels closer to 2-2.5). I've combated that by just tucking it in my pocket and running a cable up the back of my shirt so that the cable stays out of the way.

I'll say that the mass of it might be a bit too much for mounting it as a counterweight for the back of your head strap, but it might not be impossible.

One of my close friends also got the BOBOVR M2 & M3 Pro bundles that came with 2 of their 5200 mAh battery packs—rated for about 2-3 hours of play. This made it possible to reload their battery packs during use. Charging one while they used the other, hot-swapping as needed. Sounds a bit tedious, but they think the head straps are pretty comfy, so there's that.

These are just the solutions that worked for me and my buddy, but I'm sure there are plenty more from the community here that could be more suited to your specific needs!

Hope this helps!
