Updated cancelled order still thinking about it http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GTX780-SuperClocked-03G-P4-2784-KR/dp/B00CUIVSNS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UT...

🙂

If the rumors are true that the dev kit 2 will come out sooner rather then later I am thinking of upgrading my two year old HP Pavolin Elite with the Geforce 770 GTX graphics card here:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SuperClocked-Graphics-02G-P4-2774-KR/dp/B00CZIQXBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=...

My computer actually runs pretty well and right now i woudn't really feel the need to upgrade but of course the Rift requires a bit more power

Thanks to HPs website here is the "Very" details specs of the computer i have here

Do you think it should run it without a problem? as it meets the power supply requirement thanks! hopefully i put it in the right section :-).

The card i have now is the Geforce 550 GTX Ti...which according to the charts this newer card would do much better! I am really happy with my PC as it is now even though its two years old i can run most games and programs fine but just to get a better Oculus experence i thought it might be nice to upgrade the graphics thanks!

The minimum recommended power supply wattage of the GTX 770 is 600W, so you should theoretically be safe there.

You should make sure, however, that you will have a 6-pin and an 8-pin power cable ready to plug into the card:

I am running the GTX 770 in my machine, and it is a great card. People seem to be liking those new AMD cards, so make sure you look at all the options on the market.

well i assume the Geforce 550 GTX Ti is using those connectors? as id just replace that card with the newer one?

oh it only takes up one 6 pin the 550. hmm i didnt have any other things installed on my PC other then what came with it so i hope there is a free 8 pin 😛

Yeah, take a look around in the case and see if you can find a free 8 pin cable.

thanks but i think ill stick to EVGA ive used them before and they do well 🙂 so yeah i see the thing does say i should have two PCI-e cables so i assume it should be able to work 🙂 Sounds good. The 770 is one of best cards out there and its near as powerful as the titan (which is now outdone by the newer nvidia cards) but at a price thats not TOO over the top about the cost or less then a PS4. and honestly the PS4 is nice but it really cant beat a decent PC 🙂

The 770 is rly a good card to buy now i think... i also bought one (the MSI TF) about 2 weeks ago 🙂 i had a 560ti till then, and i am very satisfied now with the 770. The 560ti was VERY loud, so i wanted a quiet card, and the MSI TF did sound like a nice combination of performance & low noise. But also dont forget about AMD, like treytech said, people seem to be liking the new AMD cards.

A 770 should be alright for the time being. At work I am using a 680, which I believe is comparable, and I can run pretty much any demo I have tried.

The 770 is good, but i highly recommend the 780, it is well worth the price.
