As one of the volunteer organizer's of Echo North 2022 (https://echocanada.ca/en2022/) it makes me sad to know that Echo VR whose community embodies the pure ethos of VR experiences is being shut down.
I fully understand that it is a free game, and I understand that the costs to run the servers are not free, but I am not 100% certain that those costs couldn't be mitigated with cutting edge game servers solutions like Agones.
If they cannot and if the intellectual property tied to Ready at Dawn in terms of the game engine and servers will not be used in the future it would be a great gesture to the community that help make this the most popular game on the platform that once any legal agreements expire in terms of the IP that it be released to the public that loves it so much so that it can live on.
