Elite Dangerous: Stuck on "Frontier" screen [SOLVED]

Hi everyone,

I'm really enjoying my CV1 right now!
All my games work except for one: Elite Dangerous.
When I try to start the game, it starts but immediately get stuck on the first screen on the Oculus display. What is really weird is that on my regular monitor everything is mirrored correctly, but on my rift, nothing, apart from the white hourglass and the frontier screen.
I've tried both Steam and Oculus versions of the game, with the same result!

Help! I'd really like to enjoy this awesome game in VR!

If you try and launch the game on Steam just normally without VR can you get it to load this way. if you still come unstuck this way it may be a issue with the game itself and not the VR portion of the game and the Frontier forums may be your best bet.

Well, if I try to run the game without VR, everything works well. I've already spent many hours playing this game.

As I said, even in VR mode, everything is displayed correctly on my monitor. It seems the rift is losing connection with the game and get stuck.

Press X button to bypass that screen, you mean the white screen with H&C? I always run it from Oculus home but in 2D so I select it with my mouse and press START and then I put my HMD on.

No, I'm talking about the very first screen of Elite, the "Frontier" Logo with the space nebula in background.

Hey mate! I had the same problem. On the desktop, just go to the game settings > graphics, find the "3D" option, which is probably set to off, and change it to VR headset, or something like that. Enjoy!

ubermons is spot on - i was fuming with life itself on my first evening with my Rift - then i found the 3d option   🙂

It's in the settings of the game.

Elite VR is simplay amazing! The sense of scale is crazy.
