Gaming room - fixtures, fittings and accessories

Hi all.

I'm just converting my garage space to a VR gaming room.

id like to style it up/add useful fixtures fittings etc. For example I'd like a really cool retro gaming clock and some cool pluck sockets etc but haven't found any I like yet....

Anyone got any suggestions for things to deck out the space?

Who needs anything in the VR room when you will never see it?  😛

Joking aside, how big is the space? If VR isn't taking up the whole space maybe you could make a 'viewing area' with a sofa and wall mounted TV for everyone to watch what you're doing and then can double up as a place for movies and 2D games 🙂

Also maybe get some jigsaw floor tiles so you have a nice soft floor and you can feel your boundaries.

Ha ha! Good point!

Its a double garage. The plan is to have one side as the VR area (dedicated) and the car parked the other side which I can roll out whenever I want any larger room scale play.

... so my focus for the pimping is the size of a single garage really.

I like the floor tile idea! I was looking at flooring but I hadn't considered using something to define a boundry - it's a good thought. I'll probably add a large monitor on the wall for viewing but I'm imagining I'll keep the floor space as free as possible (I.e. No sofa) for roomscale - I don't have many friends anyway!

I was thinking of either getting a desk or perhaps fitting wall mounted arms for the monitor and keyboard.

I'll probably wall mount hangings for the HMD and controllers and Im really interested in just adding things that'll make it look a cool area for me to enjoy like a cool clock and other stuff!

So yeah... Pimp my garage!!

Paint it dark grey with a light grey grid pattern (i.e. holodeck).  I went with the Aperture Laboratories theme on mine (at least at first but then it got cluttered).

Just make sure you have a great seal on that garage door!  You don't want too much moisture getting into the garage w/ all those electronics in there nor do you want flooding to spill into the garage and get your stuff wet.  That seems to be 2 things ppl don't think about when they put electronics in their garage, weird huh?

This is why i have a gym in mine and a 3rd bedroom made into a game room.

Oh and you might want to try using these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K2TWXO0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are cheap and padded (for those times on your knees in D&B), come in diff colors and can handle weight.  I have them under my universal gym.  You can mix and match them as well to make patterns  That are also easy to clean and feel good to bare feet. You know if you need flooring for the garage.
