Got rid of the rift

Alderson15

I bought the rift about 6 weeks ago, played a variety of games on it, got bored of it within 2 weeks.

The technology just isn't there yet, not for the price and hype currently.

Wouldn't recommend buying one.

Again with this so-called 'content issue' claim. If you were talking about Steam I could understand it, but the likes of Lucky's Tale, Edge Of Nowhere, Chronos, The Climb, Chronos, Damaged Core, Mage's Tale, Lone Echo, Echo Arena, Robo Recall are all AAA quality full games, all done by the biggest Indie devs in the business, and Robo Recall and The Climb certainly have replay value due to them being score-based. That's why those two games are so addictive.

every single one of those games would be a £10-£15 steam game without VR.

Nonsense. It's more likely that they would be full price games, $60/£50, if released by any other publisher. They all have high budgets, high production values and a shitload of polish. If the likes of EA, Ubisoft or any other publisher had those games made they most certainly would NOT sell them for £10-15.

These have been made by the best Indie developers in the business and they are ALL full games.

You're seriously saying that Lucky's Tale and Robo Recall is right up there with the Elderscrolls series, Tomb Raiders and Mass Effect.

ha ha

They're not even close to the level of polished indies like Firewatch and Ghost of a Tale which go for £15.

@vannagirl usually comes along and gives him a kickin' eventually

haha 😛

I have been sitting outside his place in my car, you know just revving. But he refuses to come out.

That's cos I'm not in London at the moment! Me and Georgie Porgie have travelled 80-odd miles and are staying at my Mum's place for a week whilst renovations are being done to my flat.

I'll be back in London on Sunday so you can run me over then lol 😄

The fuckers were supposed to be doing laminated flooring and double-glazing but I talked to the bloke that's managing my flat and he says they've done carpet and lino and the landlord can't afford to do the double-glazing for a month or two. That's complete bollocks for a start, there's 4 flats in the building and he's getting £865 per month from each flat and my place hasn't had ANY money spent on it since I moved in 17 years ago.

And I moved out for a week so that they could get everything done, put my entire life in storage and rented a van to get it all sorted out.

It really should be made illegal to rent out places without either double glazing or central heating but landlords can do whatever the fuck they want. Cunts.

That £865 might go some way to paying the mortgage, it's not all profit.

Is it illegal in London to choose the place you want to rent?

Paying the mortgage? lol

Pull the other one it's got bloody great big bells on. You might have a point if my flat was the only source of revenue in the building. £865 per month would EASILY cover the mortgage payments every month FOR THE ENTIRE BUILDING. But he's getting just short of £3500 per month.

My flat has also never had any work done on it (apart from fixing a leaking roof or leaking shower every now and then) for the 17 years that I've been living there.

Considering the shit amount of gameplay the vast majority of games do not have.
Good job pulling the rarity of the time investment of elder scrolls and the witcher.

Im looking at you For Honor and Call of Duty that have maybe 6 hrs of gameplay if you really suck.

Absolutely. They're AAA quality titles. Not on a par with 100+ hour games like the Elder Scrolls or Fallout games or other open world games but easily on a par with the Assassin's Creed games or Tomb Raider games.

They're not glorified demos, they're full games and we'll worth the price of admission.

i disagree.

i would never have even come close to these games; without VR, theyre extremely boring. i could say that about most video games, but thats no excuse.

im not sure that "high budgets, high polish and high production values" necessarily equate to a good game either.

Well without VR they simply wouldn't exist so that's kind of a daft point you're making lol. In terms of quality they're right up there with those games I've mentioned. They're not glorified demos, they're high quality full games.

its a completely legitimate point because VR is only a different medium through which the "artform" (and i use that term extremely generously) of games is experienced; gsmes made for VR absolutely should face tue same scrutiny that normal games do and by no stretch do they get a "free pass" for being shallow, pathetic games.
