Hello fellow Oculus Rift developers and enthusiasts! Looks like this might be the first post ever in the developer forums so I thought I would introduce myself.

I'm David Wyand, Head of Torque 3D development at GarageGames. Torque 3D is an open source game engine that is available from GitHub. You may find out some more about it here: http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque-3d.

This year we've added Leap Motion controller support, and will push out Razer Hydra support this week. I look forward to integrating the Oculus Rift with Torque 3D and seeing what our community comes up with once the developer kit is released. We have a few Kickstarter supporters in our ranks (including myself) and we can't wait to get started!

Hey guys,

My name is Jamie, and I'm an Irish student, studying to be a software engineer or game developer in university at the moment, not really sure where I'm heading just yet tho! Time will tell, have an internship for 6 months coming up which should help.

Just placed an order on the rift and from what I've been reading it looks like I have a long wait on my hands!

I ordered the rift because I want to start developing on it to use with my final project next year. Instead of a thesis we have to come up with a game or application of a reasonable scale and work from concept to completion so I have a few ideas in mind with the rift and some other devices 😉

Looks like a great forum here, can't wait to get involved, anybody from Ireland who has experience with the rift, it would be great if you could shoot me a message have a few customs related questions.

how about a game inside the human body? it would be cool to have an experience like the movie "Inner Space". You could be like a little flying ship flying around the inside of a body. Getting attacked by white blood cells, destroying cancer cells etc. it could be both fun and educational. just an idea, good luck anyhow from a Derry man! 🙂

Hi everyone,

My name is Blair. I'm a jack-of-all-trades.
I worked for Rockstar games in the 90's as a technical director (which is code for jack-of-all-trades). I did everything from level design, to sound design, to 3D modeling and unit statistics. The only thing I don't do is code... which means I'm useless as a 1 man dev. team.

If any good coders / scripters are interested, I have a ton of great ideas and skills to offer in a partnership. 😄

I've always had an interest in VR and new technology. I currently work in the film industry for darkphoenixpictures.com doing post production work.

Really excited to get my dev-kit soon (ordered on NOV 27th... so it'll be a while yet)

Hoping I can convince my boss/director to get excited about VR and maybe shoot some 360 degree movies for everyone to enjoy. Failing finding a programmer to work on games that is.

Anyhoo.. great to be here. Looking forward to seeing you all in the rift.

Hello everyone! I have been interested in virtual Reality interfaces since the first time I Played on an hand held Personal gaming device(Tank something, 80s-90s game). I can't find the game anywhere, but I remembered playing that game as a kid for months. Ever since then I've been fascinated with VR interfaces and was Thrilled when I found out about Oculus Rift. Now I am Looking forward to Collaborating with OR Developers to create awesome new applications for the device.
