People do that sort of thing all the time... and really, it's their money to burn.. sure a single person who might've gotten it instead loses out, but they'll get their device anyway. Doesn't affect anyone aside from the guy who looks like a complete and utter dick.

Supports the company by buying a unit and smashes the product he just spent hundreds of dollars on..That'll learn em'! Only thing that annoys me is that it could've gone to a dev.

The guys doing this normally recoup the cost via views on the videos. If you think it's disrespectful to the developers waiting in line, don't give the video any views. Even if you are using adblock you will no doubt trigger it to trend somewhere.

Every big tech product release seems to attract at least one attention whore who thinks they're being funny/sticking it to the man by smashing what they paid for. It's just a sign that Oculus are becoming a significant company 🙂

He also violated the terms of service he agreed to when he purchased the unit. This shows that honesty matters little to him.

That is a shame. That DK2 could instead be in the hands of a creative developer that couldn't afford to order one.

And no, it's not "his right" to do this. The DK2 is intended for developers, not a-holes. Also Oculus is probably selling DK2 AT A LOSS in order to get developers to create content, so that they can eventually release CV1 for the consumer market!
