I got to the part where he said: "It's kinda like monitor goggles that let you look around" and I stooped reading. That's what a lot of people think VR is about. They make believe you have a 2D monitor strapped to you head and don't know it's a 3D environment that places you in the game.

I just wish we had Half life 2 in VR because I remember playing bolt on VR in the DK2 and it looked great.

I like this part because it's so true.

Dan said "I've never tried VR but I'm pretty smart so probably have a good idea what it's about. It's kinda like monitor goggles that let you look around, teleport and occasionally vomit".

Guess some monks have similar opinions about sex  😄

All of my guests and friends who tried VR have been blown away - they all thought it was so incredibly much better that what they imagined it to be. Seeing is believing  B)

Absolutely a priceless description  😄 (I marked the awesome stuff in bold  o:)

"We caught up with Dan during some painful laser surgery to remove his Half Life tattoo [...] "I've been loyal to Volv from day one, upgrading my PC with each new Half Life game. When I heard the new game was VR only and wasn't even the 4th installment it felt like a cold blade was plunged slowly into my biscuits. 12 long, torturous, years and now they also want 1000 bucks for their new electric helmet and Wii cyber-gloves! And no way I'm upgrading my PC to play this"."

Electric helmet and cyber gloves, never considered it something like that, but yeah that's really spot on!

Interesting that some dudes exist with such a dedication for HL.

I still remember Greg Tanner  ❤️  😄

"No one is looking forward to the release of Doom III more than Greg Tanner. Greg, a 27-year-old computer gamer, intends to quit his job, sell his car, and break-up with his girlfriend when iD Software's new first-person action game is released. Doom III is anticipated to test the strength of many relationships.
Greg's reasoning is sound. He doesn't want to be burdened with real-life issues, which would only distract him from his computer-gaming goals. "I worked hard to earn enough money to pay for the computer hardware I'll need to play [Doom III] effectively," said Greg. "I've already started severing contact with casual friends, I've disconnected my phone, and I've purchased enough sustenance (frozen burritoes, cheez puffs, and no-name cola) to last me six months. If the game is more popular than anticipated, or an add-on pack is released, I've scheduled some downtime to make a Costco run if necessary [...] And when Diablo came out, Greg flunked all of his college courses because he didn't have enough time to study."

Brilliant, my favourite bit...
"I immediately booked some time off work to focus on crafting some award winning negative Steam comments".

It's a good thing nobody ever posts on this forum irl with that level of vitriol  😐

This is thie typical vr hater who is double the ass clown for judging vr without trying it. If he tried it now and loved it he's the type that would not admit it. He is totally bitter for not being able to play this new half life that I believe will be brilliant.  I hope this version of half life never comes CV on monitor to taunt him even more.
