How Many Think That Using "Santa Cruz" Will Be The Same as Rift?

Following the statement from Oculus' Jason Rubin Calling Santa Cruz an 'All-In-One Mobile Rift'. How many of you really believe that the experience on the Santa Cruz will match what you are achieving with your desktop PC VR setups?

Wrong thing to compare to? Agree with everyone else. Not that was design to compare againt.

Compare to GO maybe or compare to windows MR then yes. I think it's on the right step and long as it doesn't cost an arm and leg - I think it's the stop gap we need for higher end VR and lower end VR. It removes the need for the PC while offering something that should be fun to use.

Now, I think it's a good idea - I just don't think it's the best idea yet. It has a lot of pluses to it, but I am not sure how the market will react to it. It being limited screams that it will be shun just a bit, even though, SC is the way forward. Unless SC can use external hardware (like a basic version of the CV) I think it'll have a harder time trying to fit between something like GO or Mobile on the go and CV1 - but I be more than happy to pick one up for some of my family members that do not have enough or even a computer to run VR.

The biggest fear will be how fast does the software out strip the hardward. If is it going to be come to have to pick one of these up every year - then we might need to take a step back and rethink some things if you ask me - but if it's good for a at least 2-3 years - but I hope it doesn't follow CV1 route and make everyone wait 3-4 years because then you run into the risk everyone wanting slightly updated because something new is always around the corner 🙂

Excellent point as always - and the issue I was having with Jason's comment that SC was "in essence, an all-in-one mobile Rift" - if it does not have a link to a PC then how could it be? But I still wonder about the software - will there have to be two types of games released (SC and CV1 versions?)

I also wonder if Standalone will be a complication too many, as the Oculus GO looks a great system for those looking for true gateway VR - and SC at a much higher price point closer to a CV1, all may just muddy the water on what to get?

Better, because it is wireless.
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

But we already have that with TPCast? Or is it better because its wireless and needs a less powerful PC?
