How did it feel to tell the community about DK2 shipping?

This is mostly directed to Cyberreality, but I was wondering: How did it feel to release the news about the Dev kit 2's shipping? There was so many people online that day! Did you see us as hungry dogs, gathered around the kennel (no answer for this required  ), did it feel like opening up an amusement park with a bunch of eager kids at the door, itching to get in? Perhaps you even dressed up in a golden robe so you could feel more into a powerful character?

I'm just curious as to how you felt about the grand event. I don't think I ever said thanks for the update before, sorry.
Facebook bought Instagram. How exactly did they ruin them?

I loved it that day, the feeling of excitement was palpable. 😄 and that post lol.

I think there must have been some kind of record set though from Cyber going from Hero to Villain in under 20 seconds as the news sunk in, for the people who were expecting their units in July that is. Me personally I survived the DK1 order process, which nearly finished me off and have come to accept that this secrecy actually heightens my longing for it and is part of the bitter sweet ecstasy that is Oculus.

It was the most amazingly frightening and flattering thing I remember happening to me recently.

While it was kind of amusing looking at 30 pages of memes, I really hope something like that doesn't happen again.

Sure it won't happen again, because CV1 won't be as much anticipated as DK2.
Oh wait...

😉
Not an Oculus hater, but not a fan anymore. Still lots of respect for the team-Carmack, Abrash. Oculus is driven by big corporation principles now. That brings painful effects already, more to come in the future. This is not the Oculus I once cheered for.

haha thanks for the post here, I was wondering the same thing. Must have been a ton of pressure and the crazy amounts of attention with thousands of people anxiously awaiting a brief statement.

Oh man.. the "Cyber is online!" thread, that was freaking so hilarious when I first saw someone sincerely post that they saw him online haha

It really seemed surreal, although I wouldn't put it past my self to have the same Girl-at-boy-band-concert mentality with nearly any bit of new information or announcements about the Rift. I've never felt more akin to a junkie with the way that I am just ovr.com -> /r/oculus -> news.google.com/oculus -> e-mail -> rinse & repeat many times per day looking for my next fix.

That was really fun. While cybereality was still sleeping We were on another thread imagining him in the morning, drink his cofee, thinking about how he had to write this fucking promised update and then "oh my god cybereality is online !!!"... Hilarious !
