How do you split the output to the computer monitor in DK2?

i remember in the original kit i was able to get the game on the oculus and on my computer, so i was able to play with friends, everyone could watch and see what the person in the oculus could see, but with the DK2, i cant seem to figure out how to split it between the two, it seems to be one or the other, anyone know a fix?

When running in extended mode, use the Preview Stream function of Open Broadcaster. I don't get any performance hit when using a "Game Capture" source in that. Works great.

When running in direct mode, hope the developer of whatever it is implemented a mirror feature. If there is one, you can usually toggle it with a keypress.

That doesnt work for me, do you have to play the experiences in windowed mode only? So far every demo that launches in fullscreen doesnt show on OBS for me

You may need to set the Rift as the primary display and run the game fullscreen. At least, this is what I do and it works reliably for me using the "Game Capture" source. I usually start off using "Monitor Capture", use the preview window in OBS to navigate the desktop or any 2D menus to get the game into its Rift-native state, then tab out, stop previewing the stream, switch to "Game Capture" mode, start previewing again, and tab back to the game.

You may need to check the settings for the Game Capture source (after the game has been started) and make sure it's set to capture the correct window. The preview window will remain black until you actually switch back to the game.

If you have trouble using Alt+Tab while the Rift is primary, use Task Manager instead. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring it up. If you can't see it because it's on the Rift, press Shift+Win+Left/Right arrow to move it to you monitor. Then go to the Applications tab, select the game, and choose Switch To.

Try playing around with "capture monitor", "capture game" and setting the process zu grab or using the hotkey. I was able to catch every Rift program so far for my YouTube Videos.
Bored? Maybe you could check out my YouTube Channel 🙂 (Rift Gaming videos & other stuff)
