How hard would it be, seriously ?

To give us still waiting our order a heads up from Oculus, a day or 2 before payment required ? Surely an email wouldn't cost anything ? Just a quick " we are going to take payment on" email. Is it possible cyber?

You already have a window of 1 week.  Is that not granular enough?  Why do you need day precision?

OK that window of one week is very very fluid. And it's 10 days 20th June to 30th June. With orders being fulfilled all over the place, wouldn't you want an email to say "we are gonna take your money" ?

100% agreed with OP. That window of 1 week means nothing. I have been given an estimate of 20-30th June - and they tried to take the money two weeks ago.

Go figure.

If a window of 1 week means nothing in your brain, then nothing anyone says will mean anything. To you brain.

Well to my brain, a window of one week would mean 20-27th of June. Not the 28th April. Thank you for insightful comment though.

I made the decision to buy an Oculus Rift headset, and even when I discovered it would more expensive than previously thought, I made sure I had the funds set aside to pay for it. That situation has not changed since March 28th, and because I had been saving since before January, $599 has been available this whole time.

If one is worried about the funds not being available, perhaps one is not comfortable with the decision to invest in this new toy?

I've seen people use "but the funds are just sitting in my account doing absolutely nothing" excuse as to why Oculus is horrible for delaying their purchase.  They act like something might come and steal it out of their checking account before Oculus has a chance to charge them.

to be fair guys, OP is not really asking for the moon on a stick, just an automated email stating "We are getting close to your delivery slot please make sure your funds are available".

A tiny amount of time spent doing this would potentially save time in the long run having to sort out failed payments.

PS my ETA is 23rd may  - 3rd of June...... Money taken 27th of April and rift arrived 3rd of May so that window is a VERY rough guide 😉
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂
