Hey there,

is there any information out there about how long i can play with the upcoming Touch Controllers, until the akku/batteries are bleeding out?

I believe they've said that the controllers will run 20 to 30 hours of use on a pair of AA batteries (one per controller) depending on how much haptic feedback is used.

I've bought a charger with 4 rechargeable batteries so I'll always have a fresh pair on hand.

20 hours seems really good to me. With a pair of another rechargeables it is no issue. Hope, that the tracking with the second camera is increased a bit. Oculus Home refuses to track the sensor above 1m for me. This is to short.

There's something wrong if it's not tracking more than a meter out.  You should be fine out to 4-5 meters, Whatever the length of the HMD cable is

Yeah, the range should definitely be better than 1m. I'd check the lighting conditions in your room. I believe certain types of lights can diminish tracking quality, for example if you have a large window with bright sun-light.

The tracking works a bit above 1m. 1,5 - 2m as a maximum with some sort of interuption at 2m. What i meant is the setup for the Oculus Sensor is a little disappointing. It let me not pass if my sensor is standing in >1m distance.

What lighting would be the best? Low lighting should be better i think?

Yeah even 2m is short, I regularly operate at ~4m. I have all lighting conditions except direct sunlight

Yeah, low light is the best. The headset emits faint IR light for the sensor to see, so less light in the room means it can see the headset better.

It might also be sensitive to reflective surfaces--if there is a large window, mirror, or glass picture frame in the room, it might help to position the sensor so it won't see them (or more specifically, the reflection of the headset in them).

Tracking can also be directly affected by any dirt or smudge that's on the shiny front of the sensor. Also it may be worth it to try a higher angle pointing down at you rather than flush with your chest and pointed straight at you.

Thanks for all your help!

So, i tested it with low light, high light, with/without sunlight but without any improvement in recognition. It works so far with 2m and beyond, but loses tracking from time to time and the picture wobbles arround a bit. The sensor is connected to an USB 3.0 connection (the blue one).
Anyways.. it's not that bad to me, 2 meters is sufficient for my small room and with the new sensor coming with touch i'll gain some more distance to play within.
