So, i tested it with low light, high light, with/without sunlight but without any improvement in recognition. It works so far with 2m and beyond, but loses tracking from time to time and the picture wobbles arround a bit. The sensor is connected to an USB 3.0 connection (the blue one). Anyways.. it's not that bad to me, 2 meters is sufficient for my small room and with the new sensor coming with touch i'll gain some more distance to play within.
Try switching it over to a USB2 plug. USB3 is pretty flakey.
No. It's the same. The positional tracking is working so far. But the picture is wobbling a bit back and forth all the time. No matter how lighten up or darkened my room is. The oculus setup doesn't let me pass through the sensor setup. It constanly tell me, that my sensor is too far away.
