How much better is CV1 over DK2?

I have read all I can about CV1, but without a great deal of info to go on, I'm trying to gauge if it's going to be a lot better then DK2. There hasn't been a massive increase to the resolution, so I'm trying to find out what other things they have done to make things look better. I wouldn't of thought just a slight Resolution increase would make a great deal of difference, but according to those guys from tested it looks good. Does anyone know what Oculus have done to achieve a better look inside CV1, apart from upping the Resoulution slightly?

Even Crescent Bay was thought to be a huge leap above the experience of the DK2. Better resolution, better optics, better refresh rate (now 90 Hz), and it's lighter. If you search around for interviews during various events over the last year or so, you'll see people explain how much of an improvement that prototype was compared to the DK2. And the consumer version had some further improvements, too.

The consumer version is no doubt a significant improvement over the DK2. It's more than just an increase in resolution.

There just doesn't appear to be a lot of difference in resolution between CV1 & DK2. Can lenses really make such a hugh difference? Obviously they can in a pair of glasses, but in things like this I don't have a clue what they can achieve. I guess I'll find out sooner or later though.

You would be surprised how much lenses and good software can change your experience, screen resolution is important but not as important as you would think for now.

The DK2 was put together in a rush and represents the minimum you need to develop for the Rift. They did it after lot of time saying that there was not going to be a second development kit. It all looked like they where just about to release a consumer version in just about a few months and were in a hurry to give something to developers to account for the new features, the constellation tracking and the low persistence display.

What I mean, DK2 it's a bare minimum hardware, it's not even designed to deliver a proper VR experience (fortunately it does).

The CV1 is such an improvement over that with everything carefully designed for the best experience. Displays specifically created for VR with increased resolution, high refresh rate and low persistence, no artifacts like black smearing, improved contrast and brightness (that last is a guess on my part), increased pixel fill rate to reduce SDE, highly custom lenses that give a clearer picture wherever you look at optimized for the exact displays used in the Rift, enhanced ergonomics, semi-rigid straps, 360º tracking, integrated audio with high quality drivers... i want it

As soon as the NDA lifts there should be a flood of new information.

Actually, the real NDA won't lift till the 28th. We're only getting game related answers this week (most likely).
