How much of a difference does some kind of cover for the facial interface make?

I'm sitting here very hard trying to enjoy technolust. And it seems really well done and like it will be a lot of fun. But I'm having problems with my eyes - that will be fixed when I get corrective lenses soon. But the other problem is RIFT HURTS MY FACE. Lots. >< It's the part that contacts my forehead - after about 30 minutes it feels like burning and if I continue my face goes numb! Not good ><

Now, I ordered a VR cover. It will ship in a couple of weeks. But I was wondering if any of you had anything like that yet, and if so does it make a difference in the comfort? Overall I find the headset comfortable, except that one spot.

BTW Technolust really seems like the first truly artistic experience I've seen in VR. It's really nice.

It seems hard to get right.. A bit looser and sometimes it goes slightly blurry by falling too low.  But having the top strap tight seems to help hold the weight on top of the head more, but doesn't cup the head as is recommended.

Sometimes I'm left with marks, sometimes not.. they are only slight if they are there. (always on forehead) I angle the headset differently for relief every so often... But I have sometimes gotten that burning sensation too. I wish it was just slightly less heavy and more comfy. I wonder if the VR covers will make a difference?  Please let us know!...

i get a head pain sometimes with my reading glasses or sunglasses, as a result of the arms pressing, only slightly, behind my ears.  it's as though its cutting off the circulation and it soon becomes unbearable.  It doesn't hurt my forehead, but maybe if your rift is pressing on a different part of your head it might be causing your discomfort.  maybe i've just got an odd shaped head??? 🙂

Earlier it happened to me for the first time, that burning feeling on my forehead after half an hour into playing Herohound. I took off the headset and tried to wear it again by lowering the support on the back of my head until it's cupped under my skull, then adjusted the front vertically (while pushing up my eyebrows) till I found my sweetspot, and it became much more comfortable. It actually felt like I just put ice on my forehead. Lol
Continued playing for four more hours without a problem after that.

I heard there was a company that makes them. Does anyone know what its called or the URL? It might be a good idea if I invest in some of those covers now instead of waiting on the Rift to arrive.

You mean the vrcovers? I don't know if it's against the forums but you can find them by searching on google with the word before the question mark. Mod's if this is against your rules please delete and I apologize.

It's definitely not against the rules, it's been posted a few times before:

My CV1 barely touches my face, the trick is to have the top strap do most of the work... I think you might have a wrong fit @Blyss4226.. I can really put it on and off like a baseball cap. And I do have a fairly big head... I have about 1inch left on the side strap to give you an idea

It may also be due in part to how I put the Rift on. Because of my hair getting in the way, I put it on with the method Cyber recommended for people who have glasses. It works well to keep my hair out of the way, but it may be part of the problem.
