I expect alot of people will get emails and updates today, more than 5k. Because of the SDK you have to think the size of that first batch is much bigger than it was on July 14th.

well look at the bright side guys, atleast some of you have already tried DK1 or even purchased DK1 and still have it so you can pass the time more easily until DK2 arrives so its more bearable for you than others who havent even tried DK1 anywhere yet like me 😐

edit : and oh not to mention that ive to wait longer than most as ive preordered my DK2 on 18th of june...

Haha, I feel exactly the same. I ordered on 29th (I know, I know), so I am lucky to receive my dk2 before christmas hehe. But I am sooo anxious to read the reviews of the lucky first batchers and collect demos for the arrival.

There is a saying in Germany that doesn´t translate well, but it means something like: Looking forward to something is often better than having it.

And I am really, REALLY looking forward to the dk2 hehe.

They haven't started shipping much yet.

If anyone bothered at all to actually READ what cyber said last night here and on reddit, they were merely running a sample batch over the night, and will automate more batch shipments throughout the day.

There's probably going to be massive shipping activity and charging as the day goes by.

First batch is probably a poison chalice anyway. I expect to be sat there for a few hours wondering "wtf" while I try to get something working that is broken. These things rarely go smoothly and it's going to be painful while you have to wait for various developers to resolve the various problems that will inevitably surface in the next few weeks.

tbh getting your DK2 in September is probably going to be pain free, so long as you aren't an obsessive / jealous personality. :roll:

I have confirmed that my DK2 has not shipped, therefore, I am boycotting FB/OVR for life. I even sold off my shares in protest. This is complete B.S. I even PM'd cyber to complain, and he/she/it rudely informed me that I would need to actually pay for one before they would even consider shipping me one. SRSLY?! I have been following Oculus since day 1. Why wouldn't they give me one?

But umm. seriously, I'll get one in a month or 2... as to let the actual devs get theirs first.

I agree, In my opinion (if your not a real developer) the later you get the DK2 the better. I think there will be an onslaught of people who arn't devs that will get the DK2 in the first batch and just be sitting on it going.... what the heck do I do now?

Id rather wait for the rift to come in later and have sweet juicy content on arrival than I would having the rift and drooling over the boards and OCSHARE for someone to drop the First DK2 demo haha

Either way I think everyone is going to have a real blast!
