I tried PSVR

I just tried yesterday the psvr at MIT, and what I can tell you is that
Sony expertise on display quality has pushed their headset far far away
from their other competitors. Sony has managed to beat Oculus and HTC on all
aspects regarding either design, comfort and visual experience, the only
weak point is the positional tracking.
First of all the hmd is extremely light and comfortable the headset is balanced
in a way that you don`t have any pressure on your nose and the headset never even touch your face.
Secondly I can guaranty you that they managed to remove the sde completely. Seriously there is no visible separation between pixel at all, even if you do see the pixels itself.
It is a big shame in that point for Oculus and htc because psvr lower resolution much much higher definition with no latency or visual artifacts.
No god rays no sde and no cpu or gpu update needed.
Otherwise for the tracking it is as good as a dk2 with wiimote.

So you're saying the visual quality is far beyond Oculus and HTC? I plan to get a PSVR but I'm really doubting that it is better visually. I guess I can't confirm until I try it myself.

One thing I will say that is that consoles do tend to present a much more solid graphical experience. That's been the case since the invention of the console and PC. Take Skyrim as an example. Even after downloading the entire "remastered" Mod which attempts to make the world much more vibrant and beautiful, if you put your best PC monitor next to your best flat-screen TV, where your PC monitor shows a great Skyrim scene and your TV screen is showing let's say... Star Wars: BattleFront. There is a fairly noticeable visual quality improvement with the console game over the heavily modded and remastered Skyrim.

That will be the case 9 times outta 10 when comparing PC to console on visuals only. Granted, this comparison excludes "ports." I hate the way Oblivion looks on console vs PC, for example.

But to me, it's all cartoonish with consoles to begin with. I'd much rather watch a movie with bad CGI than spend any time watching the Disney HD channel lol

Yes, consoles are very pretty with their cartoon implementation of adult things.

Yes it is, there is zero artifacts and zero screen door. Just a few pixels but no noticeable space between them even if you try. The rendering on the htc vive look less solid because there is as much as pixels as empty space between them.A shame !!!

The Psvr look like a dk2 with zero screen door, and it is going to demonstrate that high resolution doesn`t

mean higher image quality.

I prefer coming back to my dk1 without the sreen door with high frame rate instead of going high resolution but artifacts, low frame rate a screen door sfx.

I can guaranty you that you will feel sorry for Oculus and valve after trying it.

I doubt this is the case, u have to remember most of the games on consoles are powered to look the best because the console standard are the same across the board. Oculus i would imagine are going for a great VR experience so everything they do is to provide a good VR experience across the board because there is so much variation PC to PC. They need to make sure the lower spec pc can run perfect VR experience and this is making the difference
The new technology they have revealed will take care of this issue, with a bit of luck

From what I've read and watched on youtube, It does appear Sony have done a great job with the head set. CHeck out Ukrifter's youtube page for his experience.

Only issue I've read for PSVR is tracking range and tracking of the controllers. So it looks like it will be better for seated experiences.

This is just gonna result in another Console vs PC war sub-topic. Console lovers have always claimed that their graphics look better. Can't really disagree but it's the difference between the vibrant colors of this,

(Console)

versus the less than vibrant real-thing...

(PC)

What are you talking about. One consoles simply don't look better than a decent P.C. with a decent monitor. Two it will only become a war if you keep trying to make it one.
BTW I have both a gaming P.C. and a Xbox one, along with all the last gen consoles.

If you want a more reliable review of PSVR than the OPs (also with better grammar and English) see
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/10/playstation-vr-provides-a-lot-of-bang-for-your-virtual-reality...

Sony has done a good job (from what I read) especially when it comes to comfort with its HMD. It's probably much better for people with glasses as well. Here is the conclusion

"In a way, it's incredible that a virtual reality experience this good
is possible on the PlayStation 4 at all. At its best, PlayStation VR
approaches the quality of the current state-of-the-art PC-based VR
headsets at a fraction of the price. The fact that the PlayStation VR is
much more comfortable and has better optics than those competitors,
that it can be easily set up in a living room, and that it comes with
the significant software publishing muscle of Sony all make it instantly
compelling.

Still, the middle-of-the-road approach comes with compromises on both
ends. You don't get the easy portability and bargain price of a
cell-phone based VR system, and you don't get the high-resolution,
heavily detailed scenes, and effortless tracking that are possible
on the high-end PC headsets. Instead, you get the same kind of
easy-to-use but compromised sweet-spot of price and power that video
game consoles have always aimed for. If you're looking for something to
bridge that significant gap between low-end and high-end virtual
reality, Sony has what you're looking for."

I'm not sure I will argue that the Rift is the best HMD. I think relative to the Vive I'm comfortable saying that but I the the PSVR HMD does some things better than the Rift CV1.  However, if I read correctly, the PSVR tracking is inferior to the Vive and Rift.

Whilst people that have tried both have praised PSVR for the quality of the display with regards to no god rays and considerably less SDE you'll certainly notice the difference in resolution if you did an A>B comparison. However the PS4 Pro will obviously help with this enabling super sampling...but then you're going to be rising the price of admission by doing that and you're still going to be ending up with shite tracking for both the headset and especially the Move controllers. If you're going to be spending that sort of money you're better of going for the premium experience that the Oculus Rift and Touch will give you.

VR is much more than the quality of the display and the comfort of the headset. It's pointless going for a headset that has serious tracking issues at times which will make a great deal of people feel like reaching for the sick bag.

I really can't believe that Sony have ended up shitting the bed with regards to tracking. It's the most important part of a VR system.
