IPD adjustment for DK2 on Oculus Home/1.3 runtime

As the previous method was via a software adjustment which I do not believe exists anymore, how are we supposed to adjust IPD settings for DK2?

The games run fine for me, but as I've got a Rift on order, I'll be selling my DK2 (as I'm sure others will) and the buyer may not have an average IPD, and then think I've sold them a duff unit!

Thanks,

If there is no way to change it with a .ini file or reg key i hope someone comes up with a hacked runtime like they used for the lens separators. Proper IPD is REAAALY important and not everyone has money for CV1.

There is a way to change IPD in the DK2 firmware but it works with the assumption that the lenses change position (you will not get the correct distortion if you lenses are not moved). I have modded firmware in my DK2 and custom 3D printed lens cups (link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:547091 shameless plug!) to match my 69.1mm IPD and everything looks fine in Oculus Home and all 1.3 SDK apps I tried.

[edit] I just checked and DK2LensSeparationOverride attribute introduced in 0.6.0.1 runtime is still present in 1.3. It basically does the same thing as the firmware mod I mentioned earlier just without messing wit the firmware. I have no idea if it works in 1.3 and it still would require moving the lenses to get the proper distortion so if you have an access to 3D printer I would highly recommend my custom cups, they make thing so much sharper for those of us with non-average IPD
The advent of computers and the subsequent accumulation of incalculable data has given rise to a new system of memory and thought, parallel to your own. Humanity has underestimated the consequences of computerization.

Where did you find the file with DK2LensSeparationOverride? I got a pair of lens separators I used too, if i can change that I'm good.

I read on the frontier forums people were flashing IPD into the firmware on DK2

Only the DK2 unfortunately... will update the profile picture once I receive the CV1 🙂

Having to hack a method instead of having Oculus provide a software solution is far from ideal, and has the potential to devalue the DK2 for anyone looking to sell it on. Will check the frontier forums re flashing the firmware in the meantime.
