IPD adjustment for DK2 on Oculus Home/1.3 runtime

As the previous method was via a software adjustment which I do not believe exists anymore, how are we supposed to adjust IPD settings for DK2?

The games run fine for me, but as I've got a Rift on order, I'll be selling my DK2 (as I'm sure others will) and the buyer may not have an average IPD, and then think I've sold them a duff unit!

Thanks,

Where did you find the file with DK2LensSeparationOverride? I got a pair of lens separators I used too, if i can change that I'm good.

Thanks! Works like a charm!

I'm bumping this thread cos this is quite important for DK2 owners!

The method above is meant for hardware modifications to the DK2, where the mod has changed the physical position of the lenses to help people with different IPDs. It produces imperfect results if you change the value without changing the lens physical positions, and can cause addition eye strain.

I hope Oculus will introduce proper DK2 IPD adjustment in future runtimes because there must be a lot of people who'll be using DK2 for a long while yet, and eye strain isn't a trivial matter if you spend a lot of time rifting.

Oculus are obviously using the abusive practice of worsening their old products to force you to buy new ones. All you can take from this is buy another brand in the future!

Is this still valid?

If so how is it best to measure your IPD?

Hope so as printing some lens cups as I write. (guessing at the IPD)
