I think this question mainly depends on content. If there was enough content they could get it out by Q1 2015 but we all know that will not happen. i'm guessing late 2015 or early 2016.
October, 2015, is my guess. Depends what Oculus means when they say it's just around the corner though. They seem to say that in every interview when someone tries to push them on a release date. Just around the corner in my view would be Christmas of this year, but I cannot see that happening.
If I had to guess... they will announce the release date at the September 2015 Oculus Connect developer's conference, and the release date will be November 2015, giving lots of time for people to pick it up for Christmas. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Oculus demoed their positionally tracked VR controller at this year's Connect conference. It might not be ready for people to order, but it seems like the right time to show an approximation of the final product so that developers can start designing with it in mind.
