Image drift to the right when watching movies etc, since last 2 firmware updates

Hallucinogen

Every since firmware version 68 on my Quest 2 i have had image drift to the right, where the image will drift all the way to the right within about 2 minutes where it is out of view, so i have to re-centre every 1 minute or so which is totally impracticle when trying to watch a movie.

Its not my controllers as i have tried removing the battery and it still happens and was hoping the update to firmware 69 would resolve the issue, but i still have it.

I've noticed my profile logo seems to be flashing intermittently which i have never seens before, also my controller seems to flash up periodlcally when i re-centre which never happened before.

I'm hoping the sensors in the headset that deal with motion have not broken as i have treated my headset with respect, i can't see this happening.

Any help would be appreciated though as it has totally ruined my experience.

Thanks

Hello @Hallucinogen, thank you for sharing your experience using Meta Quest. We understand how frustrating it is when image drift to the right and you must recenter every minute so you can watch a movie. Please try this steps to reboot your device:

  1. Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect boot (such as external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.)
  2. Hard Reboot the headset
    1. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

We would recommend after this, to let your headset charge for at least 2 hours, then turn it on by holding the power button for 30 seconds.

Sometimes after a hard reboot the headset may just need a bit extra to fully turn on.
