Inadmissible!! Can't choose the path for the Rift software

How the hell can't i choose where to install the Rift software, games and applications?, the only option is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Oculus"!!!!.
Are you thinking what are you doing?, i have the OS in an 64Gb SSD, and i suppose that too much people have the same situation.
I hope that this will be fixed before you start to ship the HMDs because i don't want to buy or change my OS to a mechanic HDD, simply if this don't be fixed, i don't buy the HMD.

My 250 GB SSD has a little more room but certainly won't be much fun to try and cram my VR libary on to. I am not too worried though, this will be fixed before i get my Rift i think, and there is a work around.

SETTLE DOWN! 😮

5 seconds of research man, 5 seconds. 8-)

You're going to want to use mklink /J to arrange your storage any way you want. 😄

Steam had this same issue when SSDs first came out. The solution was to map larger folders somewhere else at the file system level where it is transparent to the OS and Applications.

Example:
Install Rift software on c:\program files\oculus
Assume your favorite game is FastyMcFastpants.
Assume some game you don't play much or that is really large is SlowFatBalls.

Now you have two folders (I'm making this up so inventing folders)..
c:\program files\oculus\games\FastyMcFastPants
c:\program files\oculus\games\SlowFatBalls.

Move (copy+delete) ..\SlowFatBalls to D:\SlowFatBalls.

Navigate in a cmd prompt to c:\program files\oculus

Run MKLINK /J D:\SlowFatBalls SlowFatBalls

Result: Oculus software and your fast game are on your SSD. Your big slow game is on D:. To Oculus and the OS everything appears exactly as it was on C:.

Thanks for your help but... why i have to do that?, we are in 2016 and things like these aren't serious.
Oculus must do the things easy for us, more friendly, more communicative with its consumers... i want my Rift, but things like this only put a spoke in the wheels...

Were gonna build a firewall stop Vive fanboys from flooding the forum, and Valve is gonna to pay for it. When Valve sends their people they aren't sending their best, their sending their worst.

lmao, no I wont be voting for that fraud, and I wont be voting for Hilary (she makes me cringe), so I guess im not voting. And Oculus already built a wall denying content to Vive users, so good job there guys 😉

Don't expect an answer on this one before launch. I mean, Steve Jobs was cool and all, but he wasn't that great. Do you HAVE to follow his choices to the T, Oculus?

Changing directory has been a PC standard for decades, how on earth is this even an issue?!!?
