I just had a back and forth with Reverand Kyle at Reddit, and in the middle of typing that response, my former colleague at IBM PETER NOLAN sent this (because I had sent him some videos of people following Paul Atriedes from DUNE into religious ferver)

Peter: Actually I was "chosen" before birth to bring the message that is in living free. It is not that I am a "leader" it is that I am a "messenger".

The message is actually for men not to seek "leaders" externally. For men not to seek to "follow". But rather for men to look inward and into their hearts and to choose their own path and to lead themselves.

From the position of leading themselves men can then seek advice and guidance from others so as to walk their own path.

This is the true essence of freedom. It is why the illuminati push the "leader-follower paradigm" so hard all the time.

To your point. I believe the decision to treat corporations as people for the rights they get but individuals for liability (if there is any at all) is one of the greatest blunders man has ever made. It will have to be corrected if we are ever to truly get past the age of greed and power for a few. I believe that if we succeed as a society one day all people will be free and decisions will be made by true consensus. It won't be a true utopia because there will always be competing interests. And, before that day people have to reach a certain level of education and understanding so that they have enough knowledge to self govern. We have our reason and we must grow this ability if we are to advance. We do not and we must not be trapped by mammalian feelings and reptilian self-centeredness. It is likely that one of a few things will have happened by then. We will have enhanced ourselves with controlled genetics and/or cybernetics. We could be more connected than ever and we would be able to connect to the internet/metaverse directly, switching between individual and group consciousness. The problem of course is exactly what you showcased above. At first someone will try to control this. People fear AI, and the parity and then surpassing of man's intellect by machines/software. I see it as inevitable. The question is will it be for the greater good, the desires of a few or a muddle of both. Will it be controlled, or will it control us or neither? These are the great questions the coming generations must shoulder and the outcome will decide the future of the human species. We may already have an indicator of how hard it is to thread that needle and come out the other side in the form of the Fermi-paradox.

A bright note though. There are some people that see human nature and say look how awful people are to each other. There are others though who note that in times of crisis people often do the opposite of selfishness. They help each other out. They will drive across the country to feed the workers at 9/11 as they tried to rescue people. They will line up for blocks to give blood. They send money, medicine and canned goods to people in disasters. I believe life is a spiral. Progress is circular in appearance and it first looks like it is no progress at all as we repeat the same things over and over again. But each time there is a little growth. So even as the pattern seems like it is repeating the awfulness is lessened and the better improves. It is slight, and it is easy to miss. There is still slavery in this world, but it is less. There are still dictators but their power is more isolated. There are still liars in power who attack science and reason because it goes against their interests, but their manipulations become ever more obvious. There are still wars but their are fewer combatants. If we can survive long enough and grow wise enough our descendents will inherit the cosmos.

Which brings me full circle. One of the things I like so much about VR is what it will mean in education and understanding. When I can put on the rift and my Avatar is something other than me then I will better understand what it is to be what that avatar represents. As a man, I can go as a woman and see how I am treated. I can learn what it is to be one of the countless human ethnicities. I can don my rift and walk the streets of Rome that was and the plateaus of Mars that can be. I can learn how to build a bridge, save a life through CPR/first aid, help in disaster, get over a phobia or model a new drug molecule that cures a disease. People think VR is over-hyped. I think it is under-hyped. It will free us to create artificial worlds that will help us understand our own and create better ones for the future. And it all starts with games. Fittingly so, we are game players. Animals that play are animals that learn. People learn far more from play than they do from rote memorization. And oh what play is coming. Can you imagine?

Some people say "The Dream" is dead. What a sad lack of imagination. The Dream is just beginning.

If you watch that episode of star trek Calanar, you see the final ultimate outcome of the COrporation as Personhood status meme that johnny x warned about and now you see. (again guys I am looking at long term network effects of introducing certain memes into long term human society outcomes as was my training) The INFRASTRUCTURE becomes more important than the human beings. There was also a lexx DARK ZONE episode where the television companies are fighting over advertising (facebook, amazon meme here) and destroy all the humans on the planet. Perfectly fits in with memes here.

So it is very possible in the future, we won't want our cities hurt, our maglev train tracks, our space station launch facilities (whew - I would hate to lose KSC kennedy space center) so the world leaders, governments, armies etc make a decision that each independent group, government, city, etc enforce self limiting measures to kill off local minima humans instead of damaging infrastructure. But I hope everyone reading this post can now SEE how TERRIBLE that future would be, yes we save kennedy space center, it never gets destroyed, but human LIVES are now forfeit, we are CHEAP, nothing, metropolis (good movie) slaves/COGS in the machine. And Johnny X and Now Calanar (and myself) agree this is one of the worst trends to be set in human history that will kill off so many of us humans. Norbert Wiener (father of cybernetics and feedback loop genius) preached similar memes as automation took over. So read this:

Feedback loops, redundancy, maybe the whole universe run as one huge simulation to get an IDEA up to the higher abstractive level entity/reality up above us. Like H2G2 - the whole earth was just a big computer to get the question of 42? In that universe plane maybe we are the AI that are just waking up to the reality of the conditions around us, like we imagine HAL or movie HER waking up to the reality around them?

This meme boils up when you say what you said, we must have change, the sleeper must awaken. But if you will read the larry krauss stuff referenced in athother thread about the energy limits of ultimate information processing, to have new thoughts, to advance, we must slow down the amount of awake time we exist. So if we are some computer simulation running an algorithm to give the higher order entity information, mass expenditure of energy must slow, the spice will not flow, human beings and other creatures, systems that consume energy will either wither, or be destroyed intentionally so that we can slow pace of change and energy extraction to just have one new thought but with longer and longer downtimes (rate of change of progress - derivative? will slow - tofflers future shock/present shock will have to mellow) As order comes out of the chaos (the answer to the long running algorithm) things will slow, then stop altogether as the program ends yes? LOL!

WOW! Typing this paragraph engages a new similar meme from up above, there was a Blakes 7 episode where there was this great hive mind, the original makers of the LIBERATOR spacecraft, with advanced humans that were basically borg drones, working for the hive mind AI but Blake came in there With Avon and the rest in tow and threw a fugging monkeywrench (as he typically does) into the best laid plans of tyranny and control, even of far superior AI hive minds! LOL! Calanar, there is a PHd I used to talk too, Roger Erickson, he is over at mike norman economics blog now, he was doing lots of research with think tanks in DC about the best meme progression from our extended information agents (the sheeple) up to the hive mind brain - DC on getting the best feedback and ideas and setting the best policy for the herd.
Like mosler and others at the hive mind level, he is in a PANIC about failed policies that the best information is not making it up to the hive mind and we got to fix this PRONTO!

A storm is coming.... Mass human consciousness in a way Jadorowsky elaborated is upon us...

I met with Brian Herbert of dune and Kevin j Anderson and spoke to Brian about Jadorowsky. He told me his dad was born in Tacoma where I live now. I said I am telling my friend geekmaster to watch your movies. That he has aspergers. He said yes engineers disease. That his dad may have had that. He said I just saw where companies want to start hiring people w aspergers. 1 aspie for every 100 regular employees. My mind was blown, I said my friend geekmaster just sent me that article! He said your friend is about to be in high demand because he heard lots of people were going to start hiring aspies after that news announcement! So he said u need me to sign a copy of mentats of dune! I said yes. He said wats ur name. I said William Wallace. He said wow. Like brave heart! I said yah I can trace my roots back to him and the rest of the Wallace clan in stirling Scotland around 1200ad! That my friend had roots to royalty in england!
