I bought it for seated experiences, Elite  / Project Cars etc.

I played Ethan Carter almost 100% standing up.

The current state gives you at least a few metres movement, and feels better standing. The controller makes it possible (you couldnt play standing with mouse and keyboard)

The game I'm devving is standing also.

Bream deck is good standing. As are a few other titles (it basically gives you more camera range as you can walk abut a little, and lean in more

So to the OP question..I'd say no....its for Seated and/or standing depending on the intention of the developer

I like to play most of the games standing if I can.

Farlands is a really good free game for standing and walking around

From what you guys say, a body-mounted pad for a mouse and keyboard should be created and offered to buy 😉

It's mostly seated experience as of yet for many reasons. It will change (to a degree) after Oculus Touch is released. With two cameras the only problems that will remain will be the cable and standing VR content, which won't stop being a problem for a longer period of time.
Not an Oculus hater, but not a fan anymore. Still lots of respect for the team-Carmack, Abrash. Oculus is driven by big corporation principles now. That brings painful effects already, more to come in the future. This is not the Oculus I once cheered for.

No! even much of the free content is actually best done standing.

of course the sim games are all seated, but i play most of the others standing.  Adr1ft is cool standing up
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

CV1 works great standing. The cable's long enough for the area I have and is far more flexible and light than the Vive triple cable. It's also full 360 tracking with one camera.

I use some things standing (like Altspace VR, Dream Deck, etc) and others seated (nobody in their right mind would play Euro Truck Sim 2, DCS or Elite Dangerous entirely standing).

If vive didnt show up, rift would be seated for the first gen. But, as it is, Oculus is in ruckus to make rift competitive.

If the Rift was only meant for seated use, it wouldn't support 360-degree tracking of the headset.

Sitting doesnt mean you have to be still and face forward always. You can turn around on swivel chair or check your six in simulation.
