i’m starting to feel a little desperate here as my Mom hit her 85 year mark this year because I’ve bought 2 of these oculus headsets twice, and tried setting this up previously and found out I was just premature. Now here we are in the year 2025 and I still cannot buy 2 headsets and put one on my Mom in Austin, Texas and one of myself in Southern California and us be standing there in a room talking together or sitting on the couch holding hands using VR! I’ve seen from the remarks. I’ve been following that there are millions of people all over the world wanting to be able to do this! I’m just completely exasperated at why this has not been made a priority?

I don't use them myself but isn't that what social apps like VRChat and Horizon Worlds are all about?

I have been playing with those and it is not even close. That is like cartoon world. It would be better to just facetime.

Hi @JackyLove 🙂
I also don't use these social worlds, but maybe try
Transcend Social on Meta Quest | Quest VR games
at least the environments doesn't look that childish.

Unfortunately the Quest 3 is priced at a point where that technology is beyond it, unless you're willing to settle for the cartoonish look (Which you're already dissatisfied with). Sooo unless you've got $7000 to blow on 2 apple visions I don't know of other options? Did the Quest Pro have face/eye tracking? If so they might be an option?

Also even with the $3500 Apple vision pro there is an uncanny valley effect & is not perfect.

Yes, it did.....but Quest Pro is discontinued
