I can see it working

but the ways it would work won't be push button

but having a hand in the air to swipe then slide up or down to activate or navigate through menu

then reset with fast gestures

like a hovering Display

Like go up to a computer in the game then it brings up a holographic type menu where u can swipe around to navigate and do it quick before say aliens arrive and attack or covertly and do it wrong and get alerted..

like if using a special designed controller u do swipes.. the future is promising

seriously, I love being in games and being like how they make this?

like dota 2 where its so genius

It will be interesting to see how this works with positional tracking seeing as it covers up the three LEDs on the front of the OR.

I observed people lifting their hands up in front of their faces as they become immersed, so the LM would nicely fill the immersive gap and in future can easily be integrated without requiring extra gear. The bigger challenge is inventing a device detecting our intent of walking and running, without resorting to bulky gear like the omni etc. My feeling is this will be provided by a head sensor which monitors brain activity, similar to a device already used by the Emotiv

I have an emotiv headset, they are a long way off being useable. Don't get me wrong, they are a great device and best in the consumer field but it is a little bit like voice recognition in the early days (probably not even that good). In the end you give up and use the keyboard.

Yes, I wondered about this. Although the device looks slick, there is more to it than just product design. I think it would probably need a team of the quality Oculus has put in place, not just a start up fund. Though I wonder what is being discussed at Oculus staff meetings regarding input devices. It must obviously be high on their list.

Based on our experience, it doesn't have any effect. The DK2 is designed with a lot more LEDs than is necessary to achieve positional tracking.
