Lens brush?

What's a good, reasonably priced, super soft lens brush that I can get for using on my Rift lens? Because of my scratching issues that I've talked about before, I'm trying super hard not to get anything on my lenses. But they still get dusty. I try to brush at them with the Oculus cloth but that doesn't work super well.

I'm not familiar with this kind of thing at all so I wouldn't know how to tell between a really good and a really crappy one. Can someone recommend one please? Preferably one that is available on Amazon.

Thank you!

I just thought of trying some lens cleaning solution and a sable brush, where you dip the brush and swab the lens to remove oily junk, then maybe rinse with a distilled water brush if necessary.  If I only had a Rift to check.
My brushes from Amazon arrive Monday.  The softness of sable is halfway between air and the memory of a kiss.

Probably need to avoid getting any liquid on the edge of the lens though, that might attack the laminated structure.

Make sure your sable isn't too stiff when it comes. Sometimes the spring/stiffness of the fine point of even a Kolinsky Sable brush can actually cause microscratches. That's why even though it isn't the softest, a goat brush is better if it's bigger and obvious a mop type bristle pattern. But obviously if you get a very big sable/kolinsky brush - Size 8 and up, then it's fine because its much thicker on the tip and feathered.

You know, the more I read about using distilled nanotech swedish virgin pube brushes...I think I'm just going to spit on the lens and wipe it with my T-shirt.  By the time the scratches get bad enough to actually matter the CV2 will be out and I'll replace it.

Well I've only used the Oculus cloth and within 20 days it's gotten to where they are visible. Good luck with your shirt.

Oculus for CV2 please give us a cleaning kit we can buy that's tested and approved for purchase! 🙂

But I don't want to brush a goat! Just a plastic lens.

Sorry, sorry, couldn't help myself  😄

I'm currently only using the cleaning cloth provide by Oclus, but I think I'm going to try and use the cleaning brush that was included with the surplus Bundeswehr Hensoldt scope that I bought for my airsoft G3. Will report back on my results.

EDIT: it gets rid of the dust, but of course small specks of skin grease remain. I think I'll first remove most particles with the brush and then remove the grease with the cleaning cloth.

Of course the grease can't be removed without wiping...a lot of people are recommending using some solvent...but I don't know. It's a tough line to figure out..especially given how LITTLE we know about the lens.

If there's grease....I would wipe with a cloth AFTER ENSURING all dust particles have been removed. Make sure to blow on them too....to get out micro-dust.
