Lens brush?

What's a good, reasonably priced, super soft lens brush that I can get for using on my Rift lens? Because of my scratching issues that I've talked about before, I'm trying super hard not to get anything on my lenses. But they still get dusty. I try to brush at them with the Oculus cloth but that doesn't work super well.

I'm not familiar with this kind of thing at all so I wouldn't know how to tell between a really good and a really crappy one. Can someone recommend one please? Preferably one that is available on Amazon.

Thank you!

I already have some compressed air which I use for that purpose. Yeah, they scratched when I cleaned them dry even with the Oculus cloth >< I can already notice a small effect in image from it, but it's not bad yet. That's why I wanna get something like this so it doesn't get any worse. The brush part is mainly so I can be 100% sure there are no small scratchy particles on there if I do need to clean with the cloth.

BTW that one I bought could either come with an empty bottle for $10 or with a lens cleaner for $13. I know Oculus said none of that on the lenses, and I'm not saying I'm gonna use it(prolly will test one small corner of a lens repeatedly just in case) but it says this about it:

Features
- Alcohol FREE.
- Ammonia FREE.
- Odor FREE.
- Ergonomic 2oz bottle provides a comfortable use.
- Tight threading prohibits any leaking.
- Spring-loaded button ensures the perfect amount to be sprayed.
- Safe removal of foreign matter from surfaces of all optical glass.
- Durable material for extended use.

Note the second to last line - ALL optical glass. Hmm. Yeah I definitely won't use it without extensive testing. It's not like I can undo anything that goes wrong.

What are people using in the UK for cleaning the lenses?

@Blyss4226 Would you mind linking what you bought on the UK Amazon? I'm interested in getting something too and live in the UK! Would be great to hear how it goes and if you recommend getting it

I find the best way to remove dust is to blow a breath of air on to them first to make sure no dust particles are on them then use a microfibre lens cloth .

See I think you all are overcomplicating it. It's easily to lightly bend the microfiber cloth and apply ZERO pressure to get particles off. Yeah ..it's inefficient but it works if you keep at it. And I have yet to notice a single tiny scratch mark. Smudges? Well no idea about those. Probably a puffer...combined with maybe rubbing? I'm anti-rubbing the lens when I heard how many people got their Oculus scratched the f up.

I use my wife's camera len cleaning kit's air blower thingy. I don't use the brush though, I just blast it with a few puffs of air and then clean it with Oculus' included microfiber cloth.

Here's a link to the kit she uses on her SLR lenes, she uses the brushes and hasn't complained, and her lenses arguably cost more than an Oculus Rift. >_>

EDIT: Silly me, you already found that one I suggested. That's what I get for not reading the entire thread!

Ray ...true..but DSLR lenses are not equal to the polymer lenses of Oculus. That's why I'm anti-brush. P.S. air blower thingy = Puffer. lol

@Heatherlee I don't know how you get the job done the way you are describing. That's exactly what I've been trying to do but because the lenses are recessed back behind the facial interface it's next to impossible to get the proper angle with a cloth. Last time I tried I accidentally touched the lens with my finger and had to clean it properly and that caused more scratches ><

If a brush is safe to use on high end camera equipment it should be plenty safe on the Rift. I've read of several people using brushes like this on CV1 and they seem to work well. But just in case, I'm gonna test it on my VR ONE first to make sure as I said.

@FrozenPea I looked on Amazon but could not find the specific kit I ordered. A brush of the very same type was linked on UK Amazon up above though.

Optics in high end camera equipment are NOT plastic polymers ... they are glass and as such are much harder
