Augments are the interactive spatially aware virtual objects that you'll be able to place around your space. I've just been calling them interactive objects so it's good to know they've got a name!
For those of us who used to enjoy customizing our Oculus Homes back in the day, with weird & wonderful stuff, augments should be more fun.
So, which ones are you looking forward to using and do you have an idea for what would be good augment?

I expect those reviews are just showing videos from Meta or maybe some of the mixed reality game clips.

OK solved - "and next year..."

That's sad
I just hope "next year" means January 2024......not December 2024

Yeah, I hadn't noticed the delay date for those. Hope they make up for it by fully utilising the possibilities... this is one area where they need to take the lead, not relay too much on third parties to come up with stuff.

Yeah, it's one of my most anticipated features for sure. So far since getting my Quest 3, I've been enjoying simply being in the headset more than ever before, both in MR and the VR home environment. It's making me really yearn for those augments, both functional and decorative, just to have more to do in my space. To me, it's one of the things that seems like it can help push HMDs toward more general purpose usability and increase average use time.

I have to say it was one of the first things I looked for. Only problem is that passthrough does drain the battery a fair amount

Thank you for this thread.
I am an immersed app power user. I would no longer need a pc if meta was able to make 3 or more browser windows available for augments in the home environment. I am tired of carrying around my $3k laptop that only gets around 2 hours of battery life. I am considering buying the new apple macbook pro being announced next week, but if I knew augments allows 3 floating browsers or more to manipulate in any way I see fit. You guys will make me the biggest Meta fanboy to ever have lived. I won't even go test the new apple vision pro.
Thank you again!

Yep, I can't wait for this one!

Yeah, no confirmed date for these yet. I really hope we get some sort of toolkit for creating them too.
No mention of these in the v62 update but maybe it's one of those things that get added independently.
Edit: OK seems like they're created using Meta's Spark Studio. Time to investigate!
Edit 2: Looks like a beta sign-up is needed to have access to Quest Augment creation tools, otherwise just facetime type augments can be created... if I understand it correctly. And they're no longer taking submissions.

What did happen to augments? I saw a promotion video some time ago and a re-named menu for v63, but the menu name changed back with v64... Will this feature be implemented at all?
Would love to see improvements for a customisable passthrough home environment.
