Link cable or no Ethernet virtual desktop?

Hi I’m about to get a quest 3 and I’m looking to play some PCVR games with it. I’ve glossed over my options and have come down to a link cable or VD. I cannot use a Ethernet into my laptop because there is no Ethernet port and I heard VD is basically useless if you’re not Ethernet’d. Should I just get a link cable instead? I’m worried because I heard the link cable is worse in latency and quality compared to VD. Sorry I’m very new to this 😕

@raptert what are the specs of your laptop. The optimal experience is when you have your PC or laptop wired to your router, but that's not an option, and you're going to experience extra lag using airlink, Virtual Desktop or SteamLink. So a link cable is going to be your best option.

You could also look into a D-Link adaptor or the Puppis S1 router which are both connected via USB

DWA-F18 VR Air Bridge | D-Link

Having said all that, depending on you laptop specs the Link software may not work and you'll have to use virtual Desktop or SteamLink.
