I think with meta now they should make and oculus such as the rift s that is solely based on pcvr but can still use programs that quest users can use. I think this concept would be appreciated as for you wouldn't have to worry about the battery dying still while plugged into your pc and you can also have access to possible other vr games that aren't an option offered in the meta store. Overall I believe that the publishment of a new pcvr that depends on a pc to work would increase sales and popularity.

The Quests already plays PCVR titles that aren't on the Meta store, they're able to play all of the SteamVR games. As far as the battery dying, you can just play whilst connected to the power adaptor and either play the Quest stand-alone games that way, or the PCVR games via Airlink or Virtual Desktop or SteamLink, or ensure your PC has 15W minimum power delivery over USB-C and connect the Quest to that instead of the power supply (mine does but some would need an additional PCI card).
The Quest lets you play that way or completely untethered using the internal battery and you can play Meta store PC titles or Steam PC games or Quest stand-alone games that way.
In other words, you have as much choice as possible of games and of methods of power supply.

Like @DaftnDirect said.....you can have all you wish with the already existing options
I use my Quest 2 only for pc games....it's always connected with cable, so it never runs out of power.
My Quest 3 is for standalone and with additional batteries it's also no power problem.

A PCVR only headset won't be able to play any of the Quest library's Quest only games. There's currently no emulators that can play Android / Snapdragon based VR games on a PC.
I'd like another Meta PCVR only headset, due to reduced weight from having no battery or CPU/GPU and a less hassle experience. Preferably with an upgraded Oculus Constellation outside in tracking system.

Same here. Just put the Quest 3 lenses in the old Rift CV1, call it CV2, and I could ask for nothing more 🙂 Ok, and just let us buy that CV2 hmd alone, so we can re-use our CV1 sensors and Touch controllers - not need to change what does not need changing 🤓
