I bought a Meta Quest 2 from FB Marketplace yesterday and haven't made it through the initial setup, because no matter what I try doing, the right controller will not connect. The app lets me know that it's been paired, but my headset wont register that its there. I've spent well over 16 hrs trying to find a fix, but to no avail. When you go to look up prices for a replacement controller, even pre-owned are absolutely, ridiculously high! I dont have the kind of money laying around for something that shouldnt be more expensive than a ps5 controller.
All in all, I wish I had never bought it. Absolute worst experience ever!!!!!

When this occasionally happens to me I've found that removing the controller battery, then putting it back in, seems to help. I've also found that good quality alkaline AA batteries (like Duracell) work best. Good room lighting without any close sunlit windows or reflective surfaces helps a lot as well. Worst case, maybe try another factory reset. Good luck mate and cheers.
