Received mine this Monday, totally worth the wait! Having only used a Google Cardboard before, I find the Rift to be really amazing and super immersive. Just standing in the big room during setup felt thrilling.
It's very interesting to notice your automatic feelings in some situations, even though you know it's not real. Such as how you feel a bit threatened when something is coming too close. The highlight was definitely to see my wife scream when the dinosaur tried to eat her.
Visually I find it more than adequate. Can definitely see some diagonal lines in certain scenes, but it's very easy to forget and instead focus on how awesome the experience is
I tried the cv1 for the first time at a friends house just a couple of days ago. He was one of the original backers so he got his for free (bastard). Having owned DK1 and Galaxy Gear VR (which I still own) I was totally blown away with the cv1. Can't wait for mine to arrive  Lucky's Tale was so much cooler than I thought it would be. I love platformers so I knew I'd love Lucky's Tale, but it was the way the camera was placed and the perspective of the game that surprised me. Nothing like I thought it would be. Also tried Edge of nowhere and some other games that were really cool
All I managed was the start sequence , thought something was wrong stomach wise after a bit. Then tried adrift and realised my vr legs had disappeared lol then tried pcars but couldn't figure out how to recenter view ? Then pc off for a while and stomach settling 🙂
A PC with lots of gadgets inside and a thing to see in 3D that you put on your head.
I'm one of the few apparently who don't suffer from VR legs, not even with the dk1  The only thing I've played that was a bit unsetteling was Half Life 2 on the dk1 when the game started loading between maps. The game freezes for a second or two and the loading screen pops up out of nowhere. That's the only experience I've had in vr that I didn't like.
