...was when my internet went out right in the middle of travelling through hyperspace in Elite Dangerous. I just kept going and going and going and going for at least two minutes. I thought maybe it's because I had just updated my Frame Shift Drive and was travelling to a system that was farther out. Then it went "ERRRRRRR!" and everything went black with a disconnected message in the center of the screen. I think I jumped about 10 feet into the air. 🙂
The Abyss in TheBlu. I literally didn't last more than ten seconds the first time I tried it... standing on the seabed with just a flashlight, I was sure something nasty was going to jump out and eat me.
I can't wait to get into those horror/jump scare games. The only thing i'll be worried about is if I get so scared I never play on the CV1 after a few games or they aren't as scary as youtube makes them out to be
Scariest/shocking thing was in Undertale (no spoilers), and while I know that's not VR I basically set it up to be as much of a VR experience as possible.
Facebook bought Instagram. How exactly did they ruin them?
Countless encounters with the Alien in Alien Isolation with the DK2. Some times I just had to stop playing because it was too much for my nerves. Once just a minute after I stopped playing there came a rumbling noise from the ceiling. Probably something had fallen on the floor in the appartment above me. My first reaction was a second of panic: "It's in the vents! Directly above me!! Where can I hide?". After a while I noticed that I had developed a habit in real life to look up quickly and scan the ceiling for vent openings every time I entered a room. No one noticed but it took me a few days to get rid of that.
By far the most intense game I've ever played. Even more so in the DK2. I wish they would mod it to run with the CV1.
Mine was in the Oculus Dreamdeck auto-play experience, when it decided to put me 1000 feet in the air on the edge of a platform. I have a phobia of heights and I downright sharded.
Lol....mine was the other night in Project Cars. I was driving a Prototype at LeMans. I had motion working and headphones on for full immersion. I was doing a 10 lap race, on lap 8 my fuel light started blinking. I was doing around 200mph on mulsanne straight. I brought up the hud and had a quick look for the fuel gauge to see if i had enough to finish the laps, completely distracted....looked up and I was about to hit a wall head on, I let go of the wheel covered my face and screamed...it felt so real i thought i was done for. Thinking back later I couldn't stop laughing about how incredible it felt. I love VR so much.
