That Dragon, Cancer: I’m Sorry Guys, It’s Not Good
k3oez354x7qk.png
This immersive, narrative experience retells a pivotal moment in the Green family’s journey: when they receive news that their 4-year-old son, Joel, is terminal. "This is where we go to remember our son Joel, up through here along this path. We want to show you who he was, and how his life changed us. Can we walk here together for a while?"

A scene from the full version of That Dragon, Cancer, "Sorry Guys, It's Not Good" is a videogame developer's love letter to his son, Joel Green, and an interactive tribute to the loved ones of over 200 Kickstarter backers. Can you find hope in the face of death?

Knee Deep

When a washed-up actor hangs himself on location, a spotlight is cast on the backwater Florida town of Cypress Knee. Your screen becomes a stage on which you investigate this mysterious suicide as three distinct characters: cheeky blogger Romana Teague, down-and-out local reporter Jack Bellet, and cynical private investigator K.C. Gaddis. Experience a magical reality where characters are transported among scenes, set pieces moved into place, and music wafts from the orchestra pit.

A brief history of flight has been on Jaunt for quite a while, it was an enjoyable experience

Thanks for the kind words, Storm_Cloud. There is a bug in Rapid Fire that will cause SteamVR to autostart if you have autostart enabled in the SteamVR settings (my wounded ego prefers to think this is a bug in SteamVR that makes it conflict with Oculus Home). https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4ucsq9/how_do_i_stop_steamvr_launching_when_i_launch/

I'm submitting a fix for this now.

That Dragon Cancer............ Wow that sounds too much for me.... esp in VR. As a parent I cant imagine anything worse, I struggle enough when our little one has a cold, heart goes out for anyone in that situation. 😞
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

I tried the Unimersiv app and I just don't get it. It feels like a 2D experience in VR and it brings nothing that wouldn't work just as well on a screen. I get the idea, just not the execution.

Frustrating when cool releases come out on Gear VR but you can't touch them with the premium Rift

Need to push the Devs to port it to the Rift 🙂 I think a lot of the Gear VR experiences aren't made with positional tracking in mind

Sadly I agree.  it seems like way more apps and games are coming to Gear VR and not the Rift.  A lot more apps and games are also seeming to be exclusive to the Vive right now too.  I remember when everyone was worried the Rift would have too many exclusives.  I feel it's just the opposite right now.

What's happening with the replacement thread to this, this one is getting a bit stale now at 12 days old?

@Storm_Cloud Don't think there are going to be any new releases for the Rift being so close to the Touch launch now! 🙂
