Yeah, but they say they will be making its available for other platforms, (also the Vive trackers on the gloves was the give away for me!)  B)

Ahh that is some dope tech right there. I have heard of the concept before but am highly interested in using it for scientific purpose obviously.

Interesting. Looks like a cheaper and simpler version of the exoskeleton gloves that Tested took a look at a while back.

This sounds interesting but I'm afraid I've extricated myself from Facebook... will look for another link unless someone has one already?

Their main video is on Vimeo:

I saw this earlier and really really love this concept! Granted, this is more geared towards the Vive and it requires the Pucks being installed on the back of your hands:

But people can start reserving these now for a fair price, $250 for the pair. Plus they are being advertised as compatible with the Oculus Rift. Personally, I would rather wait a bit for the Facebook-Oculus gloves, but (imo) this is a great product that really does move VR forward in a way that I'm very much excited about. I want to get rid of any form of "stick" that needs to be held in VR. I want my hands completely free, and I am confident that the correct "haptics implementation" will allow for VR realism of grabbing objects. Thus, I don't need to hold a real object in my hand just to "feel" an object in VR.

The target year for these is 2019, which I believe most of us Rift owners have already predicted will be the year for a Rift CV2 and the VR gloves showcased by Facebook-Oculus recently. Products like this from Plexus only confirm that the industry is already on its way!

thanks for the link Zen

Its great to see them try and make it compatible for as many solutions are they can:

It will be really interesting to see how the other head-mounted-display manufacturers will support such peripherals. Should be a open environment to such designs.

I hadn't seen these before so extremely impressive. Haptic feedback is definitely a bonus compared to non-haptic hand tracking only. I wonder how much the company predict we'll need haptic non-controller use.

With or without gloves, we'll still have more realistic haptic feedback for flight siming and racing with sticks and wheels. and with shooters, we could have better haptic feedback from dummy gun stocks with triggers.

I can see that gloves will open up a whole new world of interaction but I'm just wondering what proportion of our VR experience is going to remain siming and shooting.

Edit: RTS's would be good with gloves!
